Loan system works for strikers since they are judged for 'goals' scored or probably 'assists'. Keepers are also easy to be judged for clean sheets, saves, and number of mistakes made.

Midfielders IMO is the hardest to judge a player's potential or ability.

ANYWAY, football is a team game. If boro sucks, Bamford will never have the opportunity to shine himself.
