Thats a good thing, problem with speedy players is that often thats all they rely on, then they get older or injured and they dont have any other skills to fall back on - Owen, Walcott for example

It's not a bad thing but like Spike said, it's a bonus and we lack pace in our side. There are plenty of fast players who turn out just fine even though they lose their speed btw (Giggs, Figo, Maradona, Ronaldo etc.). Walcott just lacks intelligence and technique and Owen would still be a quality striker if it wasn't for his terrible fitness really.

Would be very pleased to see us sign De Bruyne, seems to be a very good technical player. Great eye for a pass and able to beat a man. Would be a bit crazy to loan him back though, we need a winger now.

Agreed 100%, if we loan him back it just wouldn't make sense..

We got Kalou, and Malouda.

Let's get rid of them before we think of saying KDB should be in our team.

Thus, the loan till the rest of the season makes sense, as Kalou might be out by then.

No real confirmation in Belgian media yet.

So far the only news we have is that the CEO of Genk was in London on monday to negotiate the transfer.

The deal would be that Chelsea will loan him straight back to Genk until the end of the season. After this De Bruyne would be loaned out for another season the another club (not Genk).

Transfer fee would be around € 9 million.

De Bruyne says he already has a personal agreement with Chelsea and "if both clubs come to an agreement, I can sign with my eyes closed!" :)
