The way I see it, Wolfsburg are prepared to pay £18m for de Bruyne in the worst moment of his career. He can only get better playing regularly, and if we're going to sell atleast loan him until the summer and go from there. We probably would've got more for him last summer to.

How could his price drop? It certainly can't get any lower. What? You think they're taking a risk by spending millions on him in January? The best young player of the Bundesliga 12-13? Please... He will stroll into their team and be their shining light (if loaned). There isn't a better player than him in the Wolfsburg team.

KDB is not just some youngster from our academy...

I agree that too many loans and not enough stability can hinder development, but the timing of this loan makes it perfectly acceptable. If he gets loaned, he won't be worried about his long-term career; the only thing he'll be worried about is the World Cup and doing his best to be one of the first names on the team sheet.

If it is simply communicated to him that the loan is simply a short-term solution so he gets on the plane to Brazil and that his future will be sorted in the summer, I'm sure it would be fine. At the end of the day, and as cruel as it may sound, he would be happy with it because he's not really in a position of power here. We would like a solution that is best for both parties but realistically we are still a business as Pizy has said and we want the outcome to favour us more so.

A short-term loan allowing KDB to regain his form in time for the WC while also increasing his asking price would be best overall.

Agree with this... Oscar passing is poor, and he needs to improve it. De Bruyne is far better passer and his crossing is good, but his problems were more mental I think. His football skills are not the problem.

I was so happy when we signed him. We finally got player who can cross and pass long range passes and we are letting him go. Probably due to FFP, in order to raise money for another signing, but shame really.

I'm pretty sure in time he will become world class midfielder, and we will regret heavily for letting him go.

He didn't have mentality to compete for his place but some players just need more time and a little bit of faith, and he lacked both things here.

He needed to be loaned to lower PL club before competing for his place at Chelsea.

Mentality can be improved and installed, especially under good coach and with his talent.

Under capable coach, in few years time, he has everything to grow in magnificent player, in terms of creativity better than Willian, Oscar or Mata.

I see us offering more money for him in the future, than for Matic now .

I honestly don't think it's for FFP - we are well in budget on that - don't believe the headlines

I agree this could be another Matic situation - some players take longer to develop that mental strength. I don't think anybody can accuse KdB of not trying, he gives his all, similarly I don't think we can complain that Chelsea have treated him unfairly - he has had chances...

When you speculate on youth - sometimes this happens - the best thing to do (which it looks like we as Chelsea and KdB) is to know when to pull the plug... We don't want to ruin his career and we don't want to be seen as holding him back - so keep it friendly and professional and move on.

Like any Chelsea player, if he does move on, we should thank him for his efforts and wish him well in the future.

Wolfsburg would be a great move for him.

To me, KDB and Mata are pretty much the same players. Not exactly same of course, but they offer the same skillset to the team (especially in Jose's system). So if KDB is leaving then we should def keep Mata and I think that's what Jose is thinking as well.

There are things KDB does better than Oscar, but those same things Mata can do even better. We know KDB or Mata aren't becoming first choice under Jose, it's going to be Oscar. So really KDB is competing with Mata for that backup CAM or RW position and that's just not ideal for KDB. He's not winning that competition anytime soon, probably not even if he realizes his immense potential.

Kagawa and Sahin where amazing for the Bundesliga, but that's where it ends. Cause outside of the Bundelisga they where total shit.

He's apparently being rumored with a 10$m transfer to Wolfsburg.

EDIT: Actually, the rumored deal is 17m. Sounds good to me.
