he used to get unfairly treated by some on here but he has sunk to that level now..time to move on from him..shame the window is closed now..wouldn`t mind if we just released him tho. let him recover elsehere..can`t have a captain who drags the team down.

He was actualy decent all these years despite criticism and Luiz too, but this season both are beyond average. Cahill being the apparent leader with all this experience doesnt show it in the slighest this season. Luiz too, always average defender apart from last season, but he had grit and drive, always leading the team and he looks like he is somewhere else, not on the pitch these days. This is spreading like a desease, one player turns shit, slowly the whole team.

It just shows we have no character in our players that would drag others up, instead they just sink down together.

He's wasn't as terrible as ppl make it out to be. He's playing his normal limited game as a decent/good player, who is barely good enough for a club with the aspirations we (should) have. The team is broken at the moment which exposes the defense. Bkayoko exposes the defense in particular.

However, better footballers can more easily maintain the level of performances during crisis. Limited players are, by definition, more affected by team form. Even missing Alonso, who despite his shortcomings has good technique, for the watford game contributed to that poor performance IMO. It's funny how people forget that technique and skill in handling the football is literally what this is all about.

Its hilarious how UK press is so nice to Cahill. He was shockingly bad against Watford, but nobody is talking about it. Actually once in a while he put some horror show performance that usually goes completely unnoticed. Weird, considering how hyper critical english press used to be towards english players.
