I agree with most if not all points of the article above. He has moved from a smaller side, so he may still improve especially on positioning (Giroud did the same in the first 5 min of the match against Arsenal). And that's precisely why I dislike the current Iva and Cahill partnership: they both cover, no one chases.

Regardless, I certainly don't see him remotely close to becoming a long-term Terry replacement. The difference in class between the two players is absolutely obvious.

I agree Cahill hasn't been at his best in recent times(who is anyway defensively?) but it's unfair to pinpoint that we conceded a large number of goals when he's in the side. Not all the goals we conceded were down to him.

Cahill (and Brana) have been shocking these last few weeks, I'm not going to include Terry as his lack of match practice but Cahill gets done time and time again by the same runs in behind.

I've also noticed he struggles to pass the ball over 15-20 yards along the floor its always too powerful or something the receiving player struggles to control it

Confidence...

His confidence (and the whole teams) confidence is shot to pieces.... You could see last night the anguish on his face... He will bounce back, but maybe it's time to bench him for a few weeks... Plus he almost scored a header! Julio Cesar is a really good keeper - he's kept QPR in so many games... Really underated IMHO...

OR maybe the players really are getting confused with Benitez's training if the reports recently are to be believed...
