Frank Lampard

To be fair he has adapted his game a little bit to play double pivot but not as well as most people think.

He is not really a player who can dominate game with his passing and because he is not young anymore, he is not as dynamic as he is used to be. So basically right now he is just a rotation level player

Agreed and that's how it should remain to be fair. When we're 1-0 down or it's 0-0 and we need a goal, then sure. Throwing Lampard on in the last 10 minutes for someone who occupies that position will be great because his tendency to seek that goal will benefit us. But as a player that we're using specifically for double pivot? That won't work.

I got no problem with Lamps being on the bench when there is a player who suits the formation better and has the necessary quality comes in. But fact is, as of now there is none + Lampard is still good enough. So we should rather buy a decent DM and a striker and a winger before we think about whether we really need a DLP and if we should splash out on a Lamps replacement.

The problem is lampard is 35, it does not make sense whatsoever to find replacement for rami/Mikel/romeu so that we can get the best of lamp. We should actually try to find an all around midfield to partner those guy

All good views chaps ,but you do realise who the new manager will be? do not count out Jose using Lampard instead of one of the three ,because Jose is Lampard's greatest fan ,so if Lampard can show the waiter he is first choice still (as he did) despite the suits trying to force him out, Jose will not be a problem.

As I said expect Lampard to be rested for the big games that really matta and not being used as a fill in under Jose ,because Jose appreciates class.

Let's not forget something about Mourinho.

He took out Iker Casillas out of the Real Madrid squad and replaced him with a man who's in his late 30's. Now he may have done it out of political motives, but it shows you that José is ruthless. He's not going to play guys out of blind loyalty for what they used to be.

Lampard might be 35 but he is a waay better player than any of these.

This will surely be his last season with us when next season comes around, so can we just try and enjoy watching him play when he gets games instead of talking about how shit his tackling is or how he is/isn't good enough to still be a starter? It'd be quite awful to miss out on his final games here. I don't think he'll be playing that much next season.

Diego lopez is actually half a year younger than Iker Casillas.

But not only in that sense your post is completely wrong. The situation was different. Iker and Jose did not like each other from the very beinning. Lamps and Jose love each other. Also Lamps plays for what he is, our best central midfielder. under Rafa, who does not play players for what they used to be either (and surely not because Romeu was not fit lmao)

You are right it was political as well as Casiilas failing to cut out a cross in the game v Dortmund when a row developed between the two ,Mourinho will not be picking Lampard for what he used to be ,he will be picking him ( as the waiter did in front of Mikel) for what he is ,you think his first signing was Lampard out of nostalgia? You are answering your own argument here.

You guys totally missed my point -_-

And MagicLamps, I'm laughing that you brought up Essien. Essien was only played because of injuries to his squad, he was often deployed at right-back because Arbeloa was often a weak link for Madrid & various injuries meant it was a decision made out of necassity.

You guys shouldn't be happy Lampard might play reguarly because José is his "biggest fan", you should be alarmed! What kind of well educated manager plays certain players because they call him "dad" lol. What nonsense.

Cos you got no point. You can't compare that Casillas situation to the Lamps situation. Mou taking an average player with massive wages like Essien on loan i fhe could have had way chepaer options who are better and just as versatile really , shows that he will not be ruthless towards his loved ones.

Lamps should not play be regular starter, when there is a better central midfielder in our squad. As of now there is none, so he will play. End of.

And I am laughing that you think 31 is "late thirties". According to that logic, Lamps is at least 40....Ahhhh now I get why you think he is too old....

Are you getting Mikel and Emenalo's relationship mixed up with Jose and Lamps?

We are all laughing because the waiter was picking Lampard as first choice on ability alone ,do you think Jose will pick him because he is his mate?

As I said expect Jose to pick him sometimes in front of one of MaZaCar as well as in the pivot where he was first choice over the woeful Mikel as judged by the waiter.

Lads, I just realised something.

A friend of mine has an uncle that actually plays for Hull, Stephen Quinn. I was at my firend's party (after the CL final) and his uncle was there. I'm only realising now that I should've gone up to him and tried my luck and asked if he could get me Super Frank's shirt next season!

I might ask my friend, but I really don't want to seem like a dick and it'd be a long shot...but oh how I would love to have that man's shirt above my mantelpiece!!! :wank2: I honestly wouldn't want anything else in the world!

+he also played Essien, who is shit, just because he likes him. So LDN's agrument is completely worthless.

He played 20 times in La Liga, most of them off the bench or at right back, he very rarely started in midfield. If you think him or Lamps will play because Jose has a touch of nostalgia your being over paranoid.

This is wrong on so many levels.

if Jose preferred Essien why play him out of position in so few games in a season? He would be starting in the pivot alongside Alonso, but he preferred Khedira there
