Going to be honest, not been impressed with him in the last few games. Sure he broke the record and congrats for that but his general play has been quite poor. Slowed a few attacks down tonight, eventually ended up going backwards due to Benfica recovering and that.

not gonna happen

Sadly you are right. Our board simply doesnt work like that.

I have no doubt at the start of next season not only will he be back(playing out of position), but also we'll have Mikel and Torres out there too. Probably will even send De Bruyne on another loan. Nothing will be changed, and we would be back at the status quo.

no. we will have Mourinho, one or two marquee signings and a world class squad competing on all front. If Lamps bows out next season, he will leave with another Premier League winners medal.

Javi Martinez and bastian will be licking their lips in the supercup if they see lampard and Mikel...

Just as the last time they faced Lampard and Mikel...Schweini and Martinez can only watch and marvel when Lamps hits his long rangers. Mourinho will scarp that lousy 4-2-3-1 and Bayern will not see any daylight when facing a 3 man midfield.

:D

I admire your optimism but I definitely believe he has to go now that he has the record.

Take it this way.

1. Mou and Frank love to work together, so him staying is defo a good thing

2. I rather fancy Mou win the trophy in his first year than Pellegrini or Moyes TBH

3. We will have Essien back, cos no one except Mou will pay wages that high for a shadow of a player

4. Hazard, Oscar will greatly improve next season.

5. We will either sign a striker like Schürrle, or even make a big signing à la Cavani or recall Lukaku, so our striker's department will get better

6. We will get rid of Paulo, Hilario, Yossi, Turnbull cos their contracts won't be extended. By replacing them we will get an upgrade in terms of quality in any case, cos there is no margin in the other direction

7. We will most likely not have so many matches again

8. We will have Romeu back, so more depth in midfield

9. There are no players like Meireles who will simply be sold in knee-jerk reaction by the board so we most probably will go into the season with a bigger squad

10. We will sign another big name apart from the striker in CB and/or in midfield so that will improve our first team, too.

Has he earned a new contract? 17 goals from midfield is a wonderful achievement, and of course we're delighted he has broken the record, but he has been a passenger at times this season. I would be happy to see him stay but I genuinely think it will be in a far more limited capacity than we are used to seeing him. Great option off the bench though.

Not active here a lot (nor in any other forums) but always knew Lampard would make history! Hence why I created this and he's broke the record. He was unlucky last night, could have scored 2! I'm delighted we won and very proud of the lads, Torres stepped up!

KEEP THE BLUE FLAG FLYING HIGH!
