Pizy 19,377
If they're willing to throw that kind of crazy cash for a relatively unknown DM, then I'd start to worry about our prospect of getting Shaw. They may go in and overpay like mad before we even attempt to sign him. If they go in and offer Southampton absurd money just to get the deal concluded I'd be let down.Still see absolutely no reason for Kroos to want to go there. He can have his choice of club. He can play in the CL for some of the worlds best managers in glamorous cities and play CL football. Why go to dreary Manchester and play under a terrible, clueless manager with no CL football? We must attempt to sign him if he wants out at Bayern.
BlueLyon 9,359
Wouldnt mind signing someone like Immobile if it works out. Diego Milito was also small fish when Mou bought him for peanuts and it turned he was the main reason for that treble. Would love to get a 'Milito' type of striker. Cheap, small expectations, but he explodes and bangs goals for fun. We dont need Cavani or Falcao or any top striker, we only have to find the one that will suit us. Mou did it with Drogba and Milito in the past, Im sure he will get proper striker.
BlueLyon 9,359
United will spend a lot of money in summer if they will pull transfers like this. Carvalho in fantastic DM and when you remember Illara or Martinez was 40mio, this is 'normal' price nowdays. Still ridiculous amount of money. But he might turn into best DM and given his age, United may not need another Dm for next 10 years.I heard Moyes wants to keep Evra and that might mean they wont go after Shaw unless evra leaves. BlueLyon 9,359
Im just surprised we dont buy more players from french League 1. Recently Azpi and Hazard, before Drogba etc show that we have been quite sucessfull with Ligue 1 players. Sadly Psg and Monaco are starting to take all the best players from french league but still...

BloodIsBlue 291
The Portuguese league is no stranger to massive summer talent sell offs and this year looks to be one of those. Rodrigo and Markovic might not be sold this summer window like the rumor mills suggest, they still have a lot of time on their contracts and their value can rise a lot. I think Benfica will sell Garay and Gaitan I'm not sure about other players this year. Markovic is going to have a lot of suitors, I don't really care for him coming here because he have some good young players to fill in that role, I just really don't want him going to another English club. SinineUltra 1,170
Regarding the central midfield role I'm surprised Ivan Rakitic's name hasn't come up more often. A motivated player, stable performer and still fairly young -26.

SinineUltra 1,170
He is more CAM imo...He has been playing mainly as a AMC in Sevilla but half of the games he has also been very successful in CM & DM role.

There is also interest in Lukaku from Atlético and Borussia Dortmund.Mourinho may well be prepared to let Lukaku go if it allows him to sign his transfer targets, having already cashed in on Kevin De Bruyne in January and sold Juan Mata to Manchester United.
