Ajax defender Gregory van der Wiel says he has agreed terms on a summer move to Valencia and is hopeful of penning a five-year deal.

The 23-year-old full-back has caught the eye of the Spanish club with a string of impressive displays for Ajax this season.

The reigning Eredivisie champions have already turned down one offer from the Spanish side and the two clubs remain locked in talks but Van der Wiel has agreed personal terms and expects a deal to be reached.

"The clubs are still negotiating, but I expect them to reach an agreement," Van der Wiel told Eredivisie Live.

"I have already spoken with Valencia and have agreed terms. If everything goes according to plan, I will sign a five-year deal."
