Is there any chance to complain, and to reduce this 3 match ban to 1 or 2 match ban...because there was no contact between players at all....???

Yes the red can be appealed. But if he doesn't win the appeal, he will miss 4 games instead of 3.

^ There's a 'link' between the EPL and CC concerning suspensions ?

Yes, both are under the aegis of the FA. Leon Barnett was red carded for a last-man challenge against Stoke (although there was neither any foul or penalty because it was outside the box), purged his suspension (who was reduced to 1 game) in Carling Cup against MK Dons (was the only one Premier League player in the lineup because Lambert did not gave a fuck about the CC) and did play 3 days later against us :)

And Liverpool players from last Sunday served their ban on whatever day the CC game was so could play yesterday. So really a good thing we have a CC game in between otherwise he'd miss Arsenal and be bad times

Allowing players to purge their suspensions in League Cup really is the only interest to maintain that format of Carling Cup to whom nobody cares  Even McLeish who won the tournament last year did let Bolton win at Villa Park

Well another highly entertaining match, good to see Torres score again proving all the doubters wrong, although marred of course by his sending off. Superb goals from Ramires and Drogba, although regarding Drogba's there were people that had left before that so would have missed it. , why do people do that, it ain't over till the final whistle! Why was Mata taken off he was doing great?

Top day out, pre-match drinks :beer:in the Imperial (highly recommended) and whoever says that the atmosphere is dead at the Bridge should have been there yesterday and would have been proved wrong.

Yes. A red card affects all domestic competitions.

Okay, cheers guys. I wasn't aware of that fact.
