AVB had to make several big decisions, and you just can't expect him to change the whole team in a matter of couple weeks. Our midfield problem is much bigger than the number of options we have in the midfield, so I don't see why you should be complaining.

We had Yossi, and let him go on loan to Arsenal......

What we need to do against United is to not have this high defence line, Seriously United always long ball, and they will take a shit on us with this high defence line, We need to be better defensivly, and we cannot rely on Mata, i don't think any team can have a free role player against United unless they do really well, United mark the shit out of playmakers and the main man, David Silva always struggles against United. Midfield is the key, as it always has been against United, do not be so afraid of them were a different team compared to Bolton.

What we need to have against United is a CF that can finish with ONE chance.

So definitely Torres or Anelka should not start that game, as far as i'm concerned.

please do tell me how it does not. First of all we are all chelsea fans not torres fans. i would love to see chelsea score a goal rather than one striker selfishly try and end his goal draught. secondly if we had got that last minute goal atleast most of us wont be in this fucking frame of mind.

I thought being a Chels fan and supporting our players could go hand in hand? Anyone who has watched Nando this season can see he is running his heart out and giving it his best so for you to say that one fluffed shot at the end of the match makes him a high profile-give up-selfish son of a bitch" doesnt tell the whole story now does it you tit? The problem here is not people being overly pro Torres, in fact people can see that it aint happening for him and that he is, to quote Carlo, not in a good moment but EVERYONE outside of this club is waiting to write, comment or pontificate about how he didnt score or didnt play well or was dropped to the bench...you would have thought that the few places he would get a break would be on the clubs fan sites but apparently not. The poor shot/pass he had at the end of this game does not sum up Torres as a man, his goal scoring abilities and the fact that he was up until not too long ago regarded as one of the best in the world certainly do

The worse mistake that Chelsea has made in the transfer market was not having a good plan b or c

Why weren't they interested in Sneijder if they would give 40 mil for him he would have gone to Chelsea no doubt.

Well i still liked the buy of Meireles. I am not complaining about that.

But i did not understand the point of letting go of Yossi if we did not get Modric or someone like Sneijder.

Though we won it was a bad game by our standard. Good start for Mata and good to see Sturridge carry on the form with the goal. If this is the way we are going to play, get ready to be bashed up next week. Sunderland is a team that is really lacking in all the departments and yet we only managed a couple. One moment of brilliance from them caught us completely hence missing on the clean sheet yet again.

I hope AVB has a better plan sketched out for the season. because this is not the way free flowing football is played, this is more of the Mourinho style :)

no doubt that if we keep this ridiculous high defensive line then we ll be mauled by them... i dont think that terry and iva's speed together can match young or hernandez. Plus another thing that worries me is bosingwa. Even though he has been one of our best players so far but can we really play him defensively against young or nani. This is worrying the hell out of me.

I disagree, Torres is a big game player.

Meh. But it's possible he might start, giving the fact that Drogba is injured and Anelka is too inconsistent.

Don't really think it was a moment of brilliance, more like a lucky flick by Bendy lol

And bad game? wow, we all have our opinions i guess.

No, don't give me all that rubbish about Torres is good against United, because he's good against United when he's playing for Liverpool, not Chelsea, he had a good game when we beat them 2-1, but besides that he hasn't done anything. Sturridge is a risk yes, because Ferguson knows hes inexperienced and he will know what to do with him, but Sturridge has a lot more chance than Torres to score at Old Trafford, and i'd much rather go with Sturridge to be honest.

Iva-Luiz-Terry-Cole

Ramires-Meireleis-Lampard

Sturridge-Drogba-Mata

They should put this formation and they must not play with the high defense line.

Then Chelsea has a chance to win.

I think they had to free up a foreign player's place for Meireless. We needed someone in the Central Midfield. Benayoun although he can play there is not really a CM. He is more like Malouda. Now Meireles, going buy today's performance could turn out to be a steal for 12m. His passing was crisp and had good possession of the ball. Played like a playmaker from the deep.

If they had to free up a foreign player place, why did they not let go of Ferreira, or Kalou?

We desperately needed more creativity in the mid, not less.....

I'm being entirely honest here when i put this

Mata-Sturridge-Bosingwa

Mierles-Mikel-Ramires

Cole-Terry-Luiz/Alex-Ivanovic

Cech

Mikel had a good game against United when we last played them, he cooled the midfield down and sorted it out, when he came on it went uphill for us, i think Lampard is a huge risk because how he does under perform a lot and can give the ball away, i think Meireles is spot on with passes forget about the longballs, at Liverpool every match i saw him play in he always finished that pass, i think it's very important. Ramires plays well against United and he has to play this one in my opinion, Sturridge is a risk but who else can we play?, Torres is out of form and would be stupid to put him up against United and Lukaku is far too young to start this game, it would be very harsh on him. I choose Bos at right wing because effectivly he has been superb, defending i absalutely agree, against the likes of young and Nani he wouldn ever be able to handle them, Ivanovic has had a great game against them last season in my opinion. Playing Anelka right wing would be a big risk if he switches off and to be fair he hasn't had the best of games against United recently despite his form atm, making him starter is a risk. The only person i can think of to put there is Bosingwa, where i think he would play well there to be honest. The only big risk is i hope Sturridge doesn't get cramped in the box.

Of course Drogba if he is ready might be able to play, but making him starter cud be a bit.. uhm... not a good idea, returning from his injury in such. But i shouldn't forget the game against Laverkusen, if we have any outstanding perforamces or good ones of course then yes we should play them, If torres plays which he will do since he has enery left in him and has a very good game then i might change my mind about him in the game against United, but what i'm saying doesn't mean anything, because AVB is the manager round here and i only hope he makes the right choice, this is the only thing i would go with, but i'm going by chances and risks, i don't see how our players perform in training or talk to them individualy so yes i could be entirely wrong.

"supporting chelsea and its players go hand in hand", well you are so right about it but some fags like you are BLAMING avb "for taking it out on torres". now if that is not a 2 edged sword. plus i dont care if torres scores or not, he can go all season long without a goal and i ll still say he played well enough only if he puts CHELSEA ahead of his needs (which he apparently is not). plus i can suppport a player only if he gives me something to cling to. right now torres is definitly not what we need.

Well it turn out brilliant for us right :), we won because of it.

And yes i would say a bad game, because we didnt even match the levels we played the last time around at the same ground and a better team.
