Didn't see the 1st half, 2nd half was scrappy with laggy sopcast stream... but as much as I saw, it was okay, Sunderland let us play leaving lots of room. Against that kind of space we really should've scored more. And again awful defending in the 90th minute, I was hoping mostly for a clean sheet and a win and was afraid of an equalizer. Torres seemed incredibly lacklustre, his face was the same like in February... down and unconfident, as opposed to how he was against Stoke. I didn't also quite understand why AVB put Torres on to play with Malouda and Anelka flanking him (later I don't know who was on right, Meireles or Ramires).. and yet again he got no service, Malouda was very frustrating apart from that good volley hit. Of course Torres's "pass" to Ramires was awful at best too. I really want to see him play with Sturridge and Mata, today's game sunk him even lower I feel.

All in all, 3 points grinded... am satisfied :)

Lol are you guys serious? You think we can get away with shit like this against Man city or Utd? Mistakes are obviously not being avoided. Every time Malouda comes on, Ill throw my toys out of the pram time and time again, the guy is useless. And why bring on Torres for the last 15 minutes without any real support?

Has Torres really played that bad?

From the last 3 games, he was good the first two, much better then Lampard, and got sub. Third i admit he was bad and deserved to be sub.

This time he got nothing.

While Lampard continues to play FULL 90 minutes!

Lampard hardly does nothing in the field either.

Stop bashing Lampard. He had three mediocre games, but he wasn't that bad, and we did fine today especially in the 2nd half.

NO. I HAVE SAID THIS TWICE. maybe bring on Torres 10min earlier and take off Mata in the 70th min. Might as well have brought on kalou who couldn't have done worse.

We got 3points in the end and played well for 65-70mins so I'm happy overall. I think unless Torres does well against Leverkusen, he shouldn't start against Utd.

Yes. Anelka as your CF will NEVER (I repeat NEVER) going to win you games against the likes of United, City, Barca or Real! Giving Torres 35 minutes (20 minutes with Mata before his substitution) is better than bringing him on in the last ten miutes when Fat Frank can barely look up and Malouda is trying to emulate the heroics of Giggs.

The game was more or less won, no point keeping him on when we've got bigger games coming up, prevents injury.

yeah but we cant wrap him in cotton wool all season can we? just seems that it would have been more benificial to have both playing at the same time, not in the case of this game but for the rest of the season

Wrapping him in cotton wool a week before United is the best time to do it tbh.

Lampard wasn't great, but to say he was shit is really hard on him.

He did try to move after passing the ball, and did try to make some 1/2. He actually hasn't got a bad game today.

mate 'trying' isn't enough! Download the game again and watch how he slows the play down everytime he sprays it left and right! Amazes me to see how blinkered a fan can get..
