steve5221 91
Guys, I think David Luiz holds good for an image of the club. And besides, Have you heard him speak English? Its awesome. He's my new favorite player at the bridge.God, His goal against United in his first match was a divine intervention.... ! He is a very good player but the problem is he is not a centre back. He will cost us to many goals in that position. He should be used as a holding midfielder... Waterfall 893
Really good, but could be much better. That's how much potential he has.
Sheva. 5,373
He's special! But i like some would rather deploy him in midfield, and doesn't necessarily have to be at DM. 'Cos he's as good as anyone going forward.
manpe 10,861
AVB likes creative and technical central defenders who can surprise the opponent, so I think he will remain one. If he played in midfield, he'd be much more tightly marked and watched, but opposition often has problems with a surging defender. I think he is defensively talented and that CB is the best position for him. I find it good that we can have an element of surprise coming from deep. NoFear 23
Yes, he is going to give away the odd penalty. Yes, he will give away silly freekicks. He is definitely not what you would call a solid English CB and will never be. But what he does guarantee you is that with him in the side you are more likely to win than lose a game. His energy, passion and forward forays are something that is absolutely needed in a team these days. That one extra man all of sudden during open play in the final third can make all the difference.I had rather have him in my first team as a CB than as a DM. Madmax 9,219
Why are people bent on seeing him as a DM or RB I'll never know
Kieran. 6,317
Why are people bent on seeing him as a DM or RB I'll never know This. Him at DM will be a massive failure. He'll be good as a RB, but best as a CB.
Peace. 4,352
For fuck sake. Some people on here have the same mentality as french coaches. As soon as a player has a very good technical ability, they think he has to play high on the pitch...He is a center back, end of the story. It is just like Piqué... They have both a great skill. And David should play like Piqué plays, in defence.
steve5221 91
He can't play as a centre back in the PL against the best sides - his concentration is not good enough over 90 mins and he is too reckless....Look at last year agianst Man U, yes he did score in the home game but was lucky to still be on the field at that point. In the away fixture he was at fault for the first goal...For those reasons I dont think AVB will not play him on Sunday.....
eldo 868
Why are you basing your opinion about him on last season?
Peace. 4,352
First off, he wasn't at fault against United ! He just has been turned into a scapegoat, nothing more nothing less, by Ancelotti and the majority of Chelsea fan.And yes he was lucky to still be on the pitch. But, wasn't Ronney lucky to not being suspended for this game (when he elbowed a wigan player the week before) ? Vidic isn't lucky to get away from all those dirty fouls he does ? Isn't Van Bommel Lucky to not have been sent off during the WC final ? That's the game, everyone is lucky at some point.
steve5221 91
Why are you basing your opinion about him on last season?Im not basing him, he is a fantastic player. He will be fine as a CB in most PL games and europe but against Man U and Man City I think he will be a liability as CB......We have a great player on our hands no doubt about it but I would like to see him in midfield with protection behind him when he charges up field

blue out west 27
Why are you basing your opinion about him on last season?I'd imagine the fact he just played his first football of the season...First off, he wasn't at fault against United ! He just has been turned into a scapegoat, nothing more nothing less, by Ancelotti and the majority of Chelsea fan.And yes he was lucky to still be on the pitch. That's the game, everyone is lucky at some point.Fact of the matter in regards to his performance in that game was that he was lucky to have stayed on the pitch, and on the other hand, you can't expect us to get favourable treatment like manure does when it comes to not being disciplined. They will always get as little discipline as any club in the league, they're englands barca.
