wisey11zola25 142
I may be completely wrong, but i was thinking to myself yesterday when watching International football i look and support the chelsea players from other nations (as long as there not up against England), before January last year i cannot think of once in my my 17 years of life that i've watched spain and support a chelsea player...we have never been a club for bringing in players from this nation...Fernando, Romeu, Mata, is now the start of what i hope to be, spanish type football being played (e.g. Barcelona passing)This probably wasn't worth a new thread but it has been annoying me all day and i dont want to end up 'wiki' searching it, who was the last spanish player in chelsea blue before the signings of these three men, i am struggling to think back to anyone that wasn't just an 'academy' or 'reserve' player.Lastly, I am personally excited by having this nation of players in...Best International side in the world, Torres and Mata are already playing for them and Romeu is breaking through for them!'Vamos que el blues'

Liquidator 5,176
It will be good to see some passing football at last instead of the aimless hoof up to Drogba. We have never really had much success with Spanish players but hopefully that will soon change. VAMOS LOS AZULES

Duppy Conqueror 1,546
Albert Ferrer was my favorite but he was just a solid RB 7/10 week in week out..albeit good enough to play for Barcelona for about 9 years before joining us and Spain. OReillyD36 311
Albert Ferrer, Enrique de Lucas, Asier Del Horno, Sergio Tejera(never appeared for the first team) and the three we have now. Think they're the only Spaniards to ever play for us

Tomo 21,751
What the fuck went wrong with Del Horno? he has a reputation as a goalscoring left back and started with a header cleared of the line against the gooners then scored at white hart lane a week later i thought perfect sign of things to come here then it just fucked up, what the fuck happened haha? wisey11zola25 142
Only ones i remembered off the top of my head were Albert Ferrer as i knew him through a friend of a friend and met him a few times and Serjio Tejera, but as far as i remember Ferrer wasn't a capped international and tejera wasn't first team, so Del Horno (who apart from the spurs and arsenal impact) completely died out at the club, cheers for bringing up the names though, was annoying me so much having a mind blank on them! Ollie 4,400
Albert Ferrer was quality but signed him a bit late really at a time we were signing players who were coming to the ends of their careers. Imagine having Vialli, Zola, Weah, Gullit etc 5 years before they actually came. Nowadays we're buying world class players at their peak ages as were now one of the top 4 teams in Europe. Remember watching Ferrer make his debut when Atletico Madrid smacked us 4-0 is a friendly lol but he was pretty good for us. Del Horno was a bit of a pussy really, just got outmuscled off 50/50s n stuff. His UCL red card on Messi was mega harsh though but hey... that's us and barca in the UCL. He did get a winner at WHL tho which was nice, still.... Bernard Lambourde achieved that stat too haha. Finally we have a few playing together so they have players they can communicate with and players they know and with Mate with Torres, expect GOALS!
