ChelseasMessiah 304
Great second half from Mata. He actually suited our route 1 football in the second half.

ChelseasMessiah 304
God are you still spouting your rubbish !!What, we were playing tiki-taka in the second half were we? We were losing the game, and the possession before the set piece. Then we changed our tactics to route one.

Ainsley Harriott 2,732
A couple of situations showed his rust but overrall very good. Let's hope he starts playing more often.
Azpinator 2,325
Are you kidding me? He was lucky today with those crosses, in fact he was the reason Essien got confused in the first 12 seconds. Please stop overrating him and look at the bigger picture here: He's a poor man's Oscar.
Jase 43,479
Ran the show in the second half. Created a number of great opportunities, put in some good passes and deliveries into the final third. Could have done better maybe in 1-2 situations but done very well overall. Certainly deserves to start the next few games against the likes of Sunderland, Stoke, Steaua and Crystal Palace.

Rubber bullets 1,183
No coincidence that as soon as Oscar goes off and we give Mata a more free role that we start creating more chances.Did help that we had two strikers but he was so good with one touch passing and releasing the ball quickly in the Southampton half.Hopefully Mourinho finally sees the importance in Mata. laura90
Sidzeret 2,257
The performance that he displayed today was inspiring. Outstanding talent. NO reason even to think of selling him in January.Keeping Mata is a bigger priority than buying a striker with our current situation and for the long-term balance of our team.We should focus all our resources on a world-class CM and we'll be pretty solid in the core. kellzfresh
Fernando 6,585
Today's display showed he is too good to be bench. He needs to put a transfer request this January and move a long since Mourinho don't give him many chances. Blue Gino 377
When I saw the disgust on Jose's face over the failed chip to Torres, I knew Mata will be back on the bench next match. Juan just can't win with the manager.
Phil Driver 503
Lets not dress this up , he was woeful first half BUT his class started to show second half when we got our noses in front ,I would like to see him get a run now in the No 10 position .
