Blue Armour 4,439
Listen, all I'm saying is that Lampard wasn't as creative as some people here are remembering; go look at the static, lifeless 10-11 season. The team he was king of was built around the team's collective power and dominance. He out most creative player in it, yes, but the way some people are harping on here it is as if he was Xavi+Alonso in one. Lampard could never dictate the tempo of a game. If I'm totally off the mark, then I have no idea why we bought every no. 10 under the sun and why Lampard isn't playing there. If you don't agree with me, that's fine. Now go back to Mata...Not taking sides here, but I don't think that's a good example. He was out for the majority of the first half of the season (as was Benayoun, the only other creative mid) and when he came back, the team was in terrible form... meetdoscar 335
Scoring goals is creativity especially the unbelievable goals lampard scored through out his career never mind his assists from open play and set pieces. Lampard >>> MataScoring goals is considered as creativity?!I don't even think you can compare Lampard and Mata when they both are different type of players and specializes in different roles. They are special players in their own right. And it seems that your posts these days will somehow include small little jibes towards Mata, trying to make as if he's worthless.. Lampard >>> Mataoh really?? in that case lamps>>>>>>iniesta+xavi+zidane and so on and so forth.your agenda against mata is becoming quite patheitc dude.lamps is a great player in every sense of the word. he has a SPECIAL knack for scoring goals which make and break matches. but that does not belittle mata creativity which is as SPECIAL. Hutcho 8,443
Let's be honest with ourselves here: Lampard's job was to lump it to Drogba. Now sometimes it would look like an amazing pass, but more often than not it wouldn't come off or it would just land near Drogba and he would do the rest. It's more of a testament to Drogba unbelievable ability at being the lone striker than Lampard's passing..Wow. Massively underrating lampard and overating drogba. jeronimo

And that BS.I guess some started to watch Chelsea too late to see Lamps in his very best years. I would go that far that he is one of best footballers of decade along with Messi, Ronaldo, Figo, Zidane, Iniesta etc. Not creative my ass... Jase 43,479
Scoring is creativity in football if you don't know.Oh please...enlighten me.. Lampard is a greater player than mata will beMaybe in terms of achievement, then the answer is yeah now. But in terms of overall ability as a player, maybe not. Then again, let's see what happens with this in maybe 5-10 years time..and if you think that makes mata worthless then that's your opinion anyway.I wasn't just referring to that post alone but the posts you have made in recent times including in other threads. And it's not just an opinion but also a fact too. Almost every one of your posts have small little attacks on Mata these days. It's getting obvious and pathetic. bluesman2610 1,417
Brilliant Player! Definitely the wrong manager to develop him further I feel , Laudrup or Klopp would have been brilliant for Mata.. Really hope he doesn't leave but would understand if he did
