Well if its a 12 point gap right now, and Lukaku's role in the goals and assists to get them 3 points against us, and 3 points against Liverpool just now alone that is 6 points. Half of the gap. Sure, they are still in front of us, but halving that gap with just his contributions in the past few weeks seems like a bit of a difference maker.

 

Of course there are other variables in place, as it always is in football, but their position in the table has a lot to do with what he's done for them. Its the reason they spent big money on him in the summer.

Kinda strange how you didn't come out and say this say 3-4 months ago. All too convenient to do so now given the current circumstances.

Morata is the better player no shadow of a doubt. Lukaku just wins the mental side of things which is where Morata collapses.

Nobody was on here complaining about us changing managers when the going gets tough after we win trophies. Glory goes a long way in hiding defects.

The comparison between the two situations is rather off. Nobody was complaining about us changing managers? Whether right or wrong, there are always people wanting us to stop sacking managers so often so we have some sort stability. And even when we sack managers, we often do it with legitimate reason. We don't just someone the second we hit a bad run. Regarding Lukaku, you suddenly came in here and said he is better than Morata, like it's a fact, when you have based only the last two games and they are in different form right now. Where were you when Morata was on form earlier in the season and Lukaku was being AWOL, especially in the big games? The fact that you did what you did smacks of knee-jerk reaction more than anything else.

I still don't like him. 

To me morata is still better. 

But morata nor lukaku are upgrade to Costa. 

That is the state of current strikers, not a good pool.

But these people not wanting us to stop sacking managers are never a prominent voice in the trophy winning threads though. It isnt a knee jerk reaction, just a matter of context of the present. Looking at the strength Lukaku shows against defenders, and then commenting its better than Morata isnt knees jerk. Its a reaction at the fact that under the same circumstances Morata would be on the ground looking at the ref begging for something.

 

Its not just the two games. Conte isnt even playing Morata anymore, and when we were down against City he had Morata ready to come and on and then told him to put his jacket back on before giving him 2 minutes of garbage time. When He's in form you can ignore the defects, when he isnt its easy to speak on them

If you're only looking at the present, then how can you criticize others who said Morata is better than Lukaku when the former was much better than the latter months ago? What I'm trying to say is you're only looking at the tree and not the forest. Unfair to say one is better than the other based on form when we all know it can come and go. Better off seeing how they fare in the long run.

You could say the same for Lukaku when he's not in form.

Lot of United fans were thinking he's garbage during the autumn months

Tho I'm one of the few that think he would score a shed load here even with his amazing 1st touch and not really suited to Sarriball. He knows where the goal is. And our lads can give him the ball to do the job.

As far as number of goals scored?

Yeah. He has scored the same amount of goals that Dider has ever scored in the PL, and he's just 25..basically the same age that Drogba was, when he JOINED Chelsea.

But if they think Drogba was all about racking up goal counts, they don't have a clue. Just like the other 'statistician's who try to judge Hazard by his goal count.

Drogba and Hazard are just two of a kind. Would take them over Lukaku and Salah any day (all respect due to the latter).
