Then again, if he does succeed your 'reputation' will be 'destroyed' as well and you should expect to be called out for it.

For people like you it's basically a win-win. Either he fails and you can keep moaning forever and say 'I told you so' or he's a huge success and you can quietly hop on the bandwagon and pretend you always rated him. Or somewhere in the middle ground, like we've seen with many players in the past: when they have a good game or just generally in good form the topics go quiet for ages, but the minute they put a foot wrong the moaners come out of hiding.

Sorry for not getting carried away about Lukaku!

Im playing it safe and im skeptical, I didnt say he will be an absolute calamity and I also said he will score goals...

I just dont unlike you think its the second coming of christ!

Quote me where I've said that. You are aware there's a middle ground between thinking he's shit and thinking he's the second coming of Jesus Christ?

In pretty much all my posts regarding Lukaku I've openly said I think he still has flaws in his game and that he can still easily end up being deemed a failure at the club, especially given the amount of money invested. But I've also said that I believe he has improved his overall game under the coaching of Antonio Conte and that I can see him being a good fit tactically under Tuchel as well, due to already proving he's a good fit for Conte's tactics which are not all that different.

I don't know about you but I will rather choose to be optimistic and see how it goes. No one likes a moaner.

If he was the player at Man Utd or Everton with the rest of our team, He is still getting 20+ goals. The improvement under Conte is a wonderful bonus. The price we paid? I don't write the checks, if Roman felt strongly to show the money, that is his decision.

I do not have an image but here are the numbers.

Moses £4.5m
Giroud £1.5m
Tomori £26m
Guehi £18m
Bate £1.5m
Simeu £1.5m
Livramento £5m
Ugbo £5m (TBC)
Abraham £34m (TBC)

Total £97m + Loan Fees

Lukaku fee £97.5m

This is some A tier coping method, it really makes me laugh. Often many rationalize their total spending, by bringing up the players sale revenue. But this is another level.

I do not see anything wrong with the numbers? With FFP you do need to have the money coming in to balance players being bought. I do not think it is rationalizing, but rather showing that our net spend is within what is allowed. I know they say FFP is relaxed, but I still think they must be within a range, of which I have no idea what that range is?

Genuine question: How has lukaku improved while at inter? Like what characteristics, etc.

I haven't watched him much since at Man U, so I'm not thrilled about this at all. But I think he'll be hungry to prove everyone wrong and he'll get my full support.

There are several articles about how Conte has improved his hold up play by having him do drills everyday. His first touch is still not one of control so Conte has him redirect the ball and chase it. I guess if he has a brick touch, learn to play off that brick touch. He looks much better with his leverage amongst CB than he used to play. I do not think Conte changed his game as much as tweeked what was there.

Destroying reputations does not exist on football forum. Everyone was wrong about something. Go read Kepa thread in January 2019. His biggest bashers were praising him to heavens.

And just Jorginho would make 90% delate their accounts if such a thing is in place...

I am sure Gilmour, Broja and Gallagher are close to 5m loan fee together.

That is one thing, but another to imply the sales cover Lukaku transfer. We bought Chillwill, Havertz, Werner, and Ziyech last summer, and probably going to buy a couple more players this summer. Sales revenues generated are not going to going to cover Lukaku transfer alone.

I am not sure how much the Hazard transfer covered those acquisitions? I really don't get into the accounting aspect, I just like to reserve my muppet behavior for the names of those coming in. If you read other boards it is interesting the conspiracy theories that Tammy being sold for 40M Euros is somehow not a legit deal and money is being passed under the table so we can balance our books. One fan base always thinks another team is cheating the system. When you are talking these billions of Euros spent in transfer windows, some shady thing probably do happen.

Except it is when you consider what is amortized for the fiscal year.
