Romelu Lukaku

What's all this nonsense about Lukaku not being "mentally ready"? Everton just played one of the most important games in their history and Lukaku chose that very match to produce a cracker of a goal and a MOTM performance, 8.5 rating on Who Scored ...

Same when Belgium had to win in Croatia to secure WC qualification. Lukaku had to stand in for Benteke, everybody was afraid he wouldn't "cope with the pressure". BAM! Lukaku scores twice, and not tap ins :) #lukakufacts

But leave him on the bench for a few games and have his competition be the worst striking trio in the top half of the table and he'll ask to leave the club?

We're going to hopefully sign a world-class striker in the summer - will he be happy having a striker like that as his competition or will he walk into Jose's office again and ask to go to a club where he's guaranteed a start?

Its all up to Lukaku. He still is 20 years old (at least thats his official age). Diego Costa is 25 years old. He must decide what is better for him. He can be the 2nd CF choice for some seasons, until he can be our 1st choice (he can even play alongside Diego Costa), or he can be the 1st choice for Everton and follow Heskey footsteps.

Wow what a racist fool you are. "At least that's his official age". Just because Romelu is black doesn't mean he was born in a bush. He was born close to Brussel for crying out loud. Says a lot about you man, and not good things.

I'm fairly convinced he'll walk by now.

Many of you are calling him stupid, but he's smart enough to know he'll never be the first choice striker for Chelsea in the next few years. He'll take a small step back (I think he'll want to stay at Everton if it was up to him), keep scoring them goals and be bought by one of the top teams again when he's 24-25.

And who would want to play for a club where the majority of the fans thinks he's rubbish? Seriously, you can't blame Lukaku for not wanting to come back to the Bridge. And to know, that Chelsea is his favourite club, a shame really.

The age comments on Lukaku coming out of here are low and shameful. Lukaku is a big softy and genuine sweet-heart, Hazard has a much harder ego. Usually the guys getting accused of being older also have a more mature personality to give them away.

It would be another Sturridge situation to let him go, the writing is on the wall for everyone to see. Diego Costa could not have scored the goal Lukaku scored on the weekend even if he was cutting in on his right foot. Costa doesn't really have those deep cuts he just had shuffles and from the top of the box its 50/50 he'll miss the target.

He's a great young talent and he's done amazingly well, but if we sell him and bring in Costa then we're going to be in a stronger position going forward. It's a lesson to other young players - don't ask to leave the club because you might not come back.

Are you sure?If Costa gets injured we are back to Torres :mouthclosed: or whoever would be the 2nd choice so I doubt we would be in a stronger. The other thing is he is a young, immature 20 year old boy who made a mistake,it happens to everybody hell Jose himself made the biggest mistake by believing in Torres and also wasting our entire window on Rooney so the point is everyone make's a mistake at some point of his life especially a 20 year old. That does not mean he should be sold right away.In an ideal world our strikeforce next season would be Costa,Lukaku and Eto'o.

Never gonna happen (unfortunately). Mourinho wants to spend big. Diego Costa for sure. He's never been interested in giving high potentials a chance to grow. He even wanted to sell Hazard in the beginning, that tells you everything.

 He never wanted to sell Hazard... stop talking bollocks.

Or Costa, Mandzukic and Bamford (although I suspect Bamford is going out on loan again)?

I'd be happy to see Costa and Lukaku as our two strikers next season but I think Lukaku has burnt too many bridges.

yes, that's a well known fact, he actively searched for teams to take him over but changed his mind in training

Sounds like utter bollocks but if you can provide a reputable source for this 'well-known fact' then I'll accept that it must be true.

Bamford will most probably go out on loan again and iirc Bayern recently said that Mandzukic will stay at Bayern. The thing is we have got an awesome talent who can contribute next season so why go after another striker?Costa and Lukaku would be an fantastic strikeforce imo

Too much talk, come back to Chelsea either get your head down or do one.

Is he talking? Fans are discussing him because of his performance yesterday.

He isn't even allowed by Everton to talk to the press. So much bullshit being posted in this thread it's ridiculous.

Haha, that's all Jose ever does actually.

Yes that is why Ashley Cole lost his place to Cesar Azpilicueta.
Or are you basing it on the fact KDB couldn't dislodge Schurrle? a player a massive half a year his senior.

Ba hasn't been trusted even remotely by Jose from day 1 and his back is now clearly broken regarding Torres.

If Lukaku stuck around to fight for his place, he would more than likely be rotating with Eto'o at a club challenging for top honours, while learning lots from Samuel himself, all at the age off 20.
His loss.

No, our loss, there's a very high chance we'd be top of the league right now.
