edetarod 2,155
not bad, he had 2 chances, almost scored with one(ball hit the post)
Las7 951
He was a handful but didn't get the ball enough - sadly for Brom they had injury troubles so they couldn't really bring on a fresher midfielder so mostly when Lukaku got the ball he was isolated, with no one to lay it off to. ja1 1,166
West Brom fan (I think) writing on a blog, basically saying Lukaku is doing pretty well so far:http://www.o-posts.net/news/teams/uk/chelsea/romelu-lukaku-on-loan-chelsea-man-settling-west-brom/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+O-posts-news+%28O-Posts+-+Football+News%
Stats 7,142
This is taking the p*** from a Chelsea fan's/Lukaku's point of view. West Brom get a talented player on loan from the "Champions of Europe"... yes. Odemwingie is banned for 3 games, in his absence Lukaku bags the winner at home against Reading then is subbed for the game against Aston Villa and also today, WTF? Annoys me to bits, I would prefer he comes back to us in January and add amongst to the firepower we have already, thinking that we can do with another striker. 5354 204
I think its better for Lukaku to stay there... more match experience for him compared to staying with us.Lukaku has several attributes to improve on.. his first touch, positioning and 1-on-1 situations... True_Blue 469
It is just a matter of time when we regret this loan deal.Torres can't start all the time and Sturridge is still injured. We left ourselfs with only one recognized CF,Lukaku would have a lot more playing time than last season if he stayed with Didier leaving. This move was perhaps the only one our board made that was bad since this summer was pure class in the department on signings. zolayes 14,489
the loan is working well ,,he is getting play time . If we need him back we can get him , It is worthwhile to make loans with managers we can trust.I would say Clarkie Zola Coyle not sure about continental managers ,,,Im sure people on here know who. But don't think we will use it, Falcao it is for january Hmm, spend around £2m (estimate) to bring Lukaku, a decent striker, if we're in a striker crisis back, or splash £45m+ on Falcao and disregard the fact we still have Torres, Sturridge and Lukaku waiting in the wings, let me guess what the wisest choice is? TorontoChelsea 4,064
It's not just about the money. If you recall players from loan, teams might not be as interested in taking your players in the future. After all, it does put them in a bind. If they weren't using the player, you can just bring them back, but someone like Lukaku is important to WBA and bringing him back would hurt them. Obviously, if we get a major injury and have no choice it's one thing, but if you are just recalling people because you want some more depth, then you may find it difficult to work out loan arrangements in the future. Besides, he clearly still has things he needs to work on and WBA is a good situation for him to get some playing time and work on them. ja1 1,166
Some of the West Brom fans getting annoyed at him apparently. Been told that some are calling him lazy, and another compared him to Ishmael Miller.
Stingray 9,441
Some of the West Brom fans getting annoyed at him apparently. Been told that some are calling him lazy, and another compared him to Ishmael Miller. That might be a little too harsh. On their forums they do agree he had a bad game (after they were singing his praise last matches).References such as 'headless chicken, gigling girl, unfocused when coming on' were present, where others didn't have any problem with the Long/Lukaku substitution ... Romelu clearly still has a lot too learn - mentally and technically and hopefully he will, cause i never saw him as an player that realizes when he has to adapt/change. Also, back in his Anderlecht days, he had a lot more confidence than now. He seems the kind of player that thrives on successes and confidence to get his motivation level up where it should be. After all that has been said. Let's keep in mind the boy is only 19 (born May 93) ... Work for it Lukaku, Work!!
