Sources have even suggested that Lukaku could be left out of Tuchel’s squad entirely, but Chelsea have refused to comment on the situation with Lukaku sweating on his place. [telegraph] #cfc

Sources say that behind the scenes, Thomas Tuchel has been angrier than he looked in his press conference.

hope its not another kepa situation where he is back after one game 'suspension'...he should be off the team until he's sold.

It's a whole different ball game to Kepa.

I honestly don't know why that is held against him, it was a genuine misunderstanding in the heat of the moment.

because he disrespected the manager, teammates and basically the whole club?

Sarri thought he was injured, Kepa was trying to say he wasn't and thought the sub was purely based on Sarri thinking he was injured.

It was crosswires in the heat of a cup final and if it was any other club (ie one without the narrative of uncontrollable player power) it would have been forgotten about by the next day.

I mean it's really strange that people cling onto this regarding Kepa when there's plenty of other legit reasons to criticise him.

Theres 2 threads on this subject, I've posted on there.

Bottom line is I've said elsewhere, if he doesn't want to be here he can fuck off soon as.

It'll probably impact against us and like him as a player, but I don't want him here.

So what happens now? Dropping him for 1 game (albeit a huge one) does nothing but hurt the team.

Is he dropped for the foreseeable future, then? Are we going to have a 100m striker who is our best goal scorer on the bench for the rest of the season?

If that’s the case we may as well loan him back to Inter with a buy option/obligation or something.

Can't see that in January, Inter currently have 4 strikers: Dzeko, Correa, Martinez, and Sanchez.

Had to be dropped. It's all about what's next from Lukaku. He has to work hard to find a place here and not continue talking about the system and Inter

Really? Have you seen his big game record? He hasn't scored against today's opponents for over 8 years.

Say what you like about their week by week consistency but I'll back Kai, Ziyech, Mount and even Pulisic to come up with a clutch moment in a game like this before Rom.

EDIT: I forgot he scored in the game Brendan was fired but that Liverpool were practically a mid table side anyway.

I’d agree at any other time but Kai has been out for a while now. Ziyech and Pulisic against Liverpool’s giant CB’s doesn’t inspire much confidence either.

Lukaku probably had to be dropped but it’s so risky. Hope it works out.
