We are living in past market prices clearly.

The football world has gone mental but we've made a shit tonne of money back from sales and winning the league, champions league revenue, the Nike deal. WHY THE HELL ARE WE PENNY PINCHING?!?!?!

So what are we doing now???

Lukaku to United, Morata to United, Costa is off...

Belotti is too expensive as Lukaku was for us.

We are in trouble once again after winning the title ffs.

And so are people still confident about Sandro? You must be having a laugh.

belotti is not the champion that people think

he is only a good player

I agree that he isn't a champion mentally. But, if you surround him with champions, he'll score a heck load I think. He reminds me of Benzema in that regard.

Still think Lukaku is 100% ours? We had this exact conversation less than two days ago,  @petre.ispirescu

Unbelievable turn of events. What the hell have the Chelsea board been doing this last month if Lukaku was really up for grabs at £75M which is not at all unreasonable in the current market.

United have abandoned their chase for Alvaro Morata which was almost finished so either him or Aubameyang is a must for us now. If we get neither, I don't blame Conte if he handed in his resignation before the season started.

It was obvious since day one he wasn't Conte' 1st target while the board confirming once again to penny pinch deals. Can't complain that donkey was never worth more than 40m. Delighted by this and I'm sure we will be ok, get Belloti and were set for years.

This is a great point.

like, what have we been doing, fucking around with Everton with derisory £50m bids or something we knew they'd never accept? Or just thinking it was a foregone conclusion that he's desperate to return here? Incompetence either way.

They probably used Rooney to cut the price down. We had no leverage and thus probably should have paid more than 75M, which we clearly aren't ready to do.

Simon Stone of BBC is saying Rooney talks have got nothing to do with the Lukaku fee, and I believe him.

As pointed out on Twitter;

Sky broke the news
Sky's Jim White, who knows more about Everton's transfer dealings than most, breaks the news that no, no fee has been agreed.

And, the cynical people who I wouldn't necessarily discount, are suggesting Sky simply wanted to rake in some mullllaaaa on their betting site.

Yes I think Lukaku wasn't Conte's 1st target.

But we can't get his targets ffs. We are not getting Morata. We will not get Sandro too. Just wait and see.

I mean, Lukaku did say that he knows where he is playing next season no?
Does that mean he knew it was Man U the whole time? Or that there was a deal with Chelsea, and maybe the Atletico transfer ban made things complicated?

I honestly dont think this saga is over yet. If Chelsea wants him though, they better make things happen fast.

The last I heard was that Everton has not accepted any bid yet. It is possible someone jumped the gun here.
