warnie_666 1,081
In two years if Oreo cookie goes back to Barca we hcould have a replacement in Conor Clifford. And we also get 10m in profit on his sale.Win Win
Guest justin_3d
I just downloaded the game vs Ecuador, I'm going to watch it this evening surely. I'm happy to see that other members said that he played very well yesterday, although I'm a big fan of Parker, there is no really need to bring back Scotty now...:goodpost:Was a good game till one Ecuador player stupidly got sent of.It should have been tied. And had not been for Romeu, Ecuador could have won.Caicedo was the best on the field, follow by Romeu. Romeu was superb for Spain.
eldo 868
Better deal than Parker. He's younger, cheaper and even if Barca activate that clause we will be even or make profit.
Term-X 7,891
Incredibly underhand & unprofessional for Barca to add buy-back clauses for every player they off-load.Villa-Boas wanted this guy at Porto, so at least we know this is his transfer, which can only be a good thing. Wrong, no one forces you to buy anything! BlueSunshine

Term-X 7,891
It's dubious & arrogant, I'd rather Chelsea had not agreed to a deal like this.. but what's done is done.
Waterfall 893
So Chelsea have to accept... It's good that we are buying youth players, but what if he does really well for us, and Barca want him back.. we will have to spend more money for another defensive midfielder.Yeah but we would have made 10M in two years. With the 15M, we can buy three Romeu's

dodojojo 510
Haven't seen him play but very excited about Romeu, intrigued to see how many minutes he'll actually be getting. As a LaMasia product, he should be plenty skillful for a defensive mid. Think it'll be a matter if he can adapt to the PL game. No doubts Torres will be taking care of him. Dani Pacheco said Torres went out of his way to help him when he arrived in Liverpool as a 17 year old.
NattyBlue 44
He will drive us on to win 6 trophies in the next 2 seasons, I got a feeling.

Very solid player, plays a deeper role for Spain, comfortable on the ball, not a physical lightweight either. I think AVB made a good decision. And yes, it won't hurt him to have another Spaniard in the club.

Tortilla9 390
Guardian article about Oriol written by Sid Lowe who writes for the Guardian and follows Spanish football closely.A few tidbits:Bigger and stronger than most of his Barcelona team-mates at 6ft 1in and 13 stone, Romeu is the least "Barça" of the Barça midfielders. Physical, well positioned, tactically bright but less precise in his passing, less rapid, less smooth, in possession. Luis Enrique, his coach for Barça B, notes his attitude and presence rather than his eye for a pass.As Martà Perarnau, the most diligent observer of Barcelona's youth set-up puts it: "Oriol is solidario. He never abandons his team-mates. He reaches every corner and covers every gap. He gives balance in the middle, allowing the rest to construct with freedom, and he goes into challenges strongly and decisively. He enjoys winning the ball back and pressuring the opposition. Sometimes, though, he is hasty in the transition of the ball."he is described by the Spain Under-21 manager, Luis Milla, as a player who "is always well positioned, tactically". Romeu, he adds, "uses the ball correctly in possession and always does the simple thing. He is a necessary component in any football team." André Villas-Boas certainly thinks so. "Romeu," he says, "is one of the midfielders with the greatest potential there is. He has a brilliant future."

LDN Blue 7,903
Barcelona will have Xavi, Iniesta, Thiago, Fabregas, Macherano and Busquets in 2 years and if Oriol likes it here and plays well I'm not sure he'll be keen to return to Barca. In 2 years,Xavi will be 33Iniesta will be 29&Mascherano 29There will be a lot of incentive for Oriol to return. To be honest, we make a profit either way. Wouldn't be happy about it, but if he'd want to leave then not much we can do but accept that case. Hopefully he'll give us a good 2 years.
