At age 6 the Genk coaches converted him from lb..

Stingray beat me to it.. No i even doubt if he was 6 or 8..

lol at that age it really doesnt matter what position you play isn't it?

How about Mignolet who was a midfielder until age 14 !

You've got to take into account that Courtois is in a very tough competitive race with Mignolet for the starter position in this emerging Belgian side, which if things go according to plan will make it to Brazil 2014. As you might have noticed, Mignolet is having a brilliant season and has been one of the best GK's in the league the past year.
Courtois can't risk getting stuck anywhere with limited playing time and loose his place in that starting eleven. Wouldn't be surprised if he'd push for a last year at Atletico where he feels safe and appreciated and sure of Champions League football.

Now, I still don't believe he's on par with Cech. Atletico's defence has to get the greatest credit in his amount of clean sheets and goals conceited. He's faced the least amount of shots in La Liga, and to be completely fair, is ranked amonst the bottom of keepers when you look at save %. Nevertheless: he's a very consistent keeper and statistics don't tell the whole story, he's great at organising and coaching his defenders and portraying a sense of security. Pretty dominant in the air aswell if you look at the standard in La Liga. But I wouldn't outright swap him with Cech just yet.

Another clean sheet tonight against Levante => his 4th in a row!!

Interesting fact:

At their home stadion 'Vicente Calderon'... Courtois is unbeaten since october 28th => this means 948 minutes without conceding a goal!

Well done Thibaut!!!

edit: special thanks to Zolayes :)

Heard barca wants him to replace valdes, well SCREW YOU BARCA!

It will all depend on Chelsea's plans with Courtois. As someone here said before, Courtois won't risk losing his place in the national team to sit on the bench at Chelsea. If Chelsea won't let him have a fair shot at the number 1 at Chelsea, he'll want to play elsewhere. It's an option to loan him to another team for one year, but you can't keep putting him out on loan for 3-4 more years.

Have a fear that we might lose him.

Thierry Courtois (father Thibaut): "Barça? There has been no contact. We'll probably soon discuss his future with Chelsea. He's calm." [dh]

Thierry Courtois, Courtois father: "In the coming days we will talk about the future of my son" ''He's not spoke to anyone as of yet''
