Thibaut Courtois

LOL at UEFA, breaking their own regulations just for the chance of screwing us :D If Atletico have the nerve to play our player against us, we should deny them a loan deal next year and they'll never see their precious keeper again.

And while I'm at it we should use Courtois' rising popularity, which should have a great effect on his price tag and cash in this summer. No more loans.

Wtf....

You guys are interpreting that UEFA message pretty colorfully. They clearly say that a loaned out player should always be able to play against his mother club and that any regulations made between the clubs don't matter to them. Also, the question about the Celtic player came after it was already decided he WOULD play. They didn't even have to make a stand. You can keep pulling the "everybody hates us" card, but that doesn't change what is written here. "If a player is duly registered on the player list of IF Elfsborg then he can play against any team that Elfsborg are drawn against."

Media is one that puts crap on us all the time and sheeps around the world follow that "truth". Everyone hates us, yet we are still 4th most popular club in the world.

Love it.

I dont care if Courtois plays or not, as long we win the tie.

what if he saves the deciding penalty in the 93rd minute? can you see our fans accepting him next season after denying us the chance of winning the Holy Grail of football?

Yes because it shows he is ready to give it his all to whoever he is currently playing for.

Should have loaned him out to a prem team this season!!!

Like what team exactly? I'm sure he'd be very happy at Stoke after winning a European Final a year ago.

Or should they have loaned him out to City or Arsenal or the Spurs? Why not give them Hazard too, while you're at it. Makes things a bit challenging.

Thibaut Courtois will NOT play against his parent club Chelsea in the Champions League semi-final, according to reports in Spain.

The Blues will take on Atletico Madrid later this month for a place in the final in Lisbon in May.

And according to Marca, the Belgian stopper won't go up against his parent club - as Diego Simeone wants to keep him on loan next season.

Courtois has been a major reason for Atletico's rise this season, and was again in outstanding form as Los Rojiblancos saw off Barcelona in their quarter-final clash this week.

Now he could stand in the way of his parent club, after UEFA declared that any clause denying him the opportunity to play in the semi-final was “null, void and unenforceable” .

Publicly Chelsea have stated that they are prepared for the young keeper to play, with chief executive Ron Gourlay stating: “As far as the player is concerned, Thibaut, he can play against Chelsea, in both ties, if he is selected...That is fact.”

But behind the scenes they are known to be furious that the clause inserted in Courtois' deal in the Spanish capital at the start of his third loan spell has been overruled by UEFA.

There's always the chance that Courtois does a WWF-style move in the 90th minute of the second leg. Score is 0-0, extra time is looming, Torres takes a shot from 12 yards which eventually reaches Courtois's hands....the players move up the field, Courtois looks long then all of a sudden drops the ball to his feet, turns towards the Matthew Harding stand and kicks the ball high into the net.

The crowd goes wild, the Atletico players are bemused and Courtois runs to the corner flag, tears off his Atletico shirt and reveals......

a Chelsea shirt!!!!

Platini runs to the pitch remonstrating with the ref when all of a sudden Bruce Buck chair-shots him to the back of the head and Ron Gourlay belly-flops him, all the while Mourinho just nodding his head and smiling.

Then Simeone puts on one of those Mexican wrestling masks and everything gets a bit weird.....

This is why he can't play against us....it's so obvious when you think about it.

LOL. Epic.

Any team in prem that would give him experience and dont want him too happy that he never plays for us(all these players thinking there bigger than the Cfc shirt and respecting we own his contract bustmyballsfc)!!And for your stupido comment on Hazard well...

The point is that he's far too good to be playing for any team not in the absolute top four, and Chelsea wouldn't loan him to them (duh). Players should respect their team, but the team should respect its players as well. That's how it works.

Also, what kind of experience would he be needing by now? K, he won the Spanish cup, the Europa Cup, is on top of the Spanish league right now and kept several clean sheets in the Champions league. But hey, I bet he could still learn a few tricks at Sunderland.
