Kostas 1,468
I'm not sure what's being discussed here. Has anyone argued that we are not 2 midfielders short or that we wouldn't like someone better than Parker?
True_Blue 469
To be honest Spurs, but I'd rather have Ba in front of me than Defoe or Pavlyuchenko and Modric created far more chances for the strikers to put away.I'd much rather have Modric, he makes his midfield tick and works for team whereas Parker plays the role of big fish in a small pond.Do you really want a player that left us because he couldn't get a game and is now older than he was?I said a couple of times that i don't want either of them.We can do much better than with those two. ulsterchelsea 3,221
talkshite reported today on my way in that we looked to be the likely destination for scotty now, they failed to back it up with anything substantial but there you have it
Wilson 358
Do we really need another 30 year old midfielder?
Kieran. 6,317
Age is on the pitch, not the passport. Not every day do you get to sign the reigning player of the year for 8 million. Even on loan, he'll be good to have on the squad.
teignman 441
I maybe don't have the vehement dislike of this move shared by some, but I am hardly enamored. I think the quoted price for a loan deal is quite steep. If Parker is happy being a squad player, and this somehow does not throw a monkey-wrench (or spanner if you prefer) into our success this season and beyond, I'm ok with it. Parker definitely didn't deserve PFA Player of the Year, but he can possibly be helpful to a top club like us.
Peace. 4,352
I'am against this signing. We aren't in a situation where we just have to make some adjustements to the squad. If it was the case, why not ? But we can't afford us to spend our time to get old and average players. We need to rebuild our squad, because it lacks of quality and freshness. What we need, is relatively young players (under their 26 I would say) who are at the top level, or who have the potential to get to the top level. Scott Parker doesn't fit the description.Though, if he is on a low basis wage and if his price tag is quite cheap, plus depending to our other signs, I wouldn't complain that much... Krypt 241
He is a good backup , but he simply wont play enough... and in Europe he will be out of his depth. There seems no point in this transfer but at the moment reports suggest he will be ours..
milllz 43
this is a player who nearly kept west ham up almost single handedly, he seems to be getting better with age so we would be getting the best out of him, and he wont be demanding super high wages, give him a chance before you condem him
Domino- 116
Surprisingly, at least for me speculation about the Parker transfer to Chelsea continue. Personally, I expect all news to stop immediately after it was announced that Chelsea has interest in him
BlueLion. 21,491
If Lampard/Ramires gets injured, I'd rather see him playing there than Zhirkov or Malouda. Just saying - perfect squad signing.
Randall 315
I'd rather see myself playing in defensive midfield and I can't run for 20 metres with out puffing my tits off.

BlueLion. 21,491
No, because if you sign Cristiano Ronaldo he goes into the first team. A squad signing if a back-up player, ie. Benayoun/Ferreira.First XI signings and squad signings are different.
