I maybe don't have the vehement dislike of this move shared by some, but I am hardly enamored. I think the quoted price for a loan deal is quite steep. If Parker is happy being a squad player, and this somehow does not throw a monkey-wrench (or spanner if you prefer) into our success this season and beyond, I'm ok with it. Parker definitely didn't deserve PFA Player of the Year, but he can possibly be helpful to a top club like us.

I'am against this signing.

We aren't in a situation where we just have to make some adjustements to the squad. If it was the case, why not ? But we can't afford us to spend our time to get old and average players. We need to rebuild our squad, because it lacks of quality and freshness. What we need, is relatively young players (under their 26 I would say) who are at the top level, or who have the potential to get to the top level. Scott Parker doesn't fit the description.

Though, if he is on a low basis wage and if his price tag is quite cheap, plus depending to our other signs, I wouldn't complain that much...

He is a good backup , but he simply wont play enough... and in Europe he will be out of his depth. There seems no point in this transfer but at the moment reports suggest he will be ours..

this is a player who nearly kept west ham up almost single handedly, he seems to be getting better with age so we would be getting the best out of him, and he wont be demanding super high wages, give him a chance before you condem him

No, because if you sign Cristiano Ronaldo he goes into the first team. A squad signing if a back-up player, ie. Benayoun/Ferreira.

First XI signings and squad signings are different.
