More of the shit from most of last season. First pre-season friendly, granted. Handful of reserves in the side, granted. But still hugely disappointing. And no, not because there's no goals being scored. A new gaffer's come in, the players know their places are on the line, a big shake-up is on the cards and yet such a soulless performance. Being outfought by guys less than half their ability.

I'm not so looking forward to next season unless I see major encouraging signs during the asia tour.

same ole piss poor amateurish performance pfffftt

What have I learned from watching this match... well a few things to be exact...

- Bosingwa and Kalou NEED to be sold! I think Bosingwa was just terrible in all ways possible. He never took the ball under control, he always gave it away, and his decision making is just poor. I would much prefer seeing Ivanovic playing at RB on the strength of that.

- Kalou, although, give him his due he did make some exeedingly good runs... was generally poor as well, and I wouldn't mind at all if we got rid of him as well.

- Our midfield produced nothing! I don't understand why McEachran had to play at DM, when he has so many attacking qualities to give. It just doesn't make any sense whatsoever!

only positive from 2nd half ...YOSSI ... most ineffective player Lampard

Absolutely agree, for me Yossi was the man of the match. . even Josh had a bad game. overall a dissapointing match

if AVB still thinks this current team can challenge for the title then he must be delusional

Just a friendly and 23 players used so perhaps a great midfield may come out of the squad. But from this game, it reminds me from last season that this midfield needs to be upgraded. Lampard was anonymous.
