Chelsea Sack Andre Villas-Boas

When it all comes down to it, we can't really make a decision because so much happens behind closed doors that we don't know about. Not to mention none of us have any experience as a top flight manager.

Well that's just stating the obvious, if we went by that rule we wouldn't be saying anything, because everything here is opinions, sometimes facts though, we could be all wrong, could be something completely different. My opinion is AVB is a bad manager and not good enough to manage a top club, because i think his decisions have been poor, his subs for example, taking Mata off every game, now i don't know if Mata asked AVB if he could be taken off at the end of every game nicely, i don't know that but i've still said it and that's what i assume.

There could be much more to it, AVB could be under more pressure than we think, and he might not have a lot of control and he's been told not to play this not do that etc, who knows, but i doubt about it, that doubt that i have in AVB not being allowed to make decisions like that isn't bound to be right, it's not a fact what so ever. But we have to say these things otherwise there's not much of a discussion is there.

if Roman sacks AVB, then the players will think they have the power to do whatever they want. And this is a thing to avoid. <_<

Why would they think it when they've known it and exercised that power since before Mourinho left? If Drogba and his faction want AVB out, theres not a lot anyone can do to stop it.

That's a fair point there! I mean, some players in our side such as Mata, Sturridge (loan return from Bolton), Romeu etc. were all inspired to come to Chelsea because they were impressed with AVB to begin with... if he gets sacked, one of two things can happen. Either they request to leave and follow AVB to whichever club he manages next, or they request a transfer to a club like Inter Milan or AC Milan, maybe even PSG because they do have the money!

If Roman does make the tough choice of sacking AVB, then I think (not 100% sure on this) Chelsea would have to pay compensation for his departure because we paid £13m to get him in the first place, and even more-so, our philosophy changes yet again, whatever replacement manager we're likely to bring in... bearing in mind, that this is happening "during mid season", and that's the WORST time to be changing managers, especially when your side is playing poorly, the form is all over the place, and you're not even in the top 4!

It is of great amusement to me that the "AVB out?" thread has reached 35 pages in length. I can't believe people want to see him go. It's like they haven't learnt anything. If this guy isn't given another few seasons to prove himself then I just don't know.

If you dont understand why so many people want him sacked, then I dont know.

AVB is doomed, because the club wont accept less than the 4th place or a decent run in UCL.

Im afraid those things wont happen.

I'm sick of all these managerial philosophies. Come in and be pragmatic, you won't make a lasting impression on the squad anyway as you'll be sacked in 24 months so why bother? If only all our (or any) managers brought that attitude. We'd be a lot better off.

All I have against him at this point are awful substitutions and poor work in the transfer market. Romeu and Mata have been good, yes, but the signings of Cahill and Lukaku seem pointless. I'm also unhappy with the treatment he gave Alex. He's also caved and allowed the players to gain power over him. Tactically, he is not very astute but at least if he figures out our strengths and plays to them, thats all we really need. Motivation is something I've noticed has been lacking since "bad moment". I'm not sure this is the managers fault, I think our senior core have simply got the attitude that enough is enough, we've had successful enough careers, we don't need to bother anymore.

there's no way Drogba and co. are more powerful than the President, or than Roman. If they don't like AVB, then they can leave! (this is just my unpopular opinion, of course!)

It's not about being more powerful than them. They have the respect and like of Roman. Drogba has previously (working with Cech and Ballack) engineered the sacking of a manager, by basically talking to Roman and asking him to get rid of him. If he really is bothered, he can do it again, especially when you consider Scolari actually performed slightly better than Villas-Boas.

I don't think you should believe that. Cause the telegraph seems like so pro Hiddink.

I remember in the summer when they had it as done deal that Hiddink would take over. And so much story about Hiddink, to turn out to be a big farse.

And how do you know the club won't accept below 4th? Are you the owner? The board?

So please stop saying stuff like that, because you don't know.

Okay then, humour me. If you woke up tomorrow and all over the back pages was printed, "AVB Sacked!". What then? Out of all of the available managers, if you could choose one, who would it be?
