Should be pretty hard for him to oust Courtois off the No.1 spot considering how good our defense are and how good Tibo is. Maybe its time for him to move on. He'll go out as Chelsea's greatest ever goalies. #ForeverBlue Like TOPB said, a cup-tied Cech in the January window or a second-choice GK next summer will fetch us a lesser transfer fee. Still can't believe Fernando fucking Torres is outlasting all our legends. Sad really.
He needs to be consistent with his performances. Last season he was suspended or suffering from terrible form when we needed his energy and legs, towards the end of the season even though he had a pretty good start to the season.
Finally we have got a full-back who can put in world class crosses. Something that we lacked for quite some time at both wings. We could see a lot of assists from this guy with Costa heading in his crosses. ?
He is anything but a leader of men, but v.Gaal was out of options if he wanted to pick a captain who is a nailed on starter. v. Persie is captain material but probably didn't want others to think he's showing favouritism. Bad choice altogether.
Strong both offensively and defensively with great balance in midfield. Lots of positives from this game. Couldn't have asked for anything better in a pre season game. Now let's take the positive vibes to Burnley and get those 3 points.
I really liked that FK routine in Turkey where Branna scored on the rebound. 3 days into training and he was on fire. I think him and Cesc should share the set-piece responsibilities. Any GK would have a hard time trying to anticipate whether it's going to be the perfectly placed kick from Cesc or the thunderbolt from Schurrle when both are standing over the free-kick.
PL loan is perfect for the lad. He could come back strong and easily displace Mikel and Romeu next season. Like Skipper said, he'd learn a lot under Matic. Hope Dyche gives him some decent game time and make him work on his game like Zola did.
