Yes but that wasn't the issue... It's not what he isn't doing for United it's what he was doing for us. There was absolutely no reason to cull him from the team when we did, he was our most creative outlet in the n10 position. Oscar hadn't done anything at the time to justify his selection for that role to the extent we had to sell Mata!
Oscar was given the platform and did............nothing. Nothing meaningful.

Sorry Chou... I often value your input. The Chelsea-Board acted like idiots but Styles is right. JT is a legend, no doubt, he is our greatest ever captain, greatest ever CB (imho), but 60k a week, this is a massive amount for a player on the decline with a bit part role. He has been backed up extremly by the board, remember the ferdinand incident, where Buck and others did go to court for him? Remember that Story abt him and Bridgys Ex? So, the club stood by him even so England and the FA wanted to put him on is knees at that time. Club acted like idiots (again) could have handled it properly, giving him the same contract two months before... But him crying abotu a paycut whle earning so much money before and still earning money I probably won't earn for 3 years in ONE SINGLE MONTH... C'mon...

He is very talented and can have a excellent game if on fire. But seriously, it's not about being world class every game but he is a Anelkaesque-type of player, seems bored and lackluster at times. Mou was right at that time, a player that needs the assurance he will play every game at 22 or so only to feel free of pressure is set to leave. I mean he was a kid and not proven at all, to me nobody has the right tu be a guaranteed starter if he doesn't perform...
Sad he ended whhere he is, cause can't stand city but still a very good player on his day...

Why shouldn't he take a wage cut if his role is likely to change quite significantly?
The reality is, he is worth 60k per week to Chelsea because he's old, won't play as much and they will upgrade the defence.
Chelsea took very good care of Terry and stuck by him through a lot of self-inflicted bullshit so yes, took care of him they did.
Last year was last year. This year he has played like shit and shouldn't be in the first 11 moving forward.
In every sport, the contract you sign at 36 will be very different to the one you signed at 28 (unless you go somewhere like China).
Whatever happened to just bowing out gracefully?

Of course he doesn't have to take the offer to prove he loves the club or the fans, but I'm sorry I just simply don't subscribe to the theory he Is being shat on.
He has been paid well by us all over his career, we have also surrounded him with some great player's that has helped him pick up every trophy that he can possibly win (at Chelsea) and in return has given us nearly two decades of great service and performances, it's been an extremely mutually successful relationship.
But, ultimately, all things come to an end at some point, and while his Chelsea career may live another year, in my opinion his days of being a regular starter has long gone (I was hoping he would be one of the rare players that stay close to their prime until 40, but he has fallen off a cliff performance wise this season), and his wages have to mirror his role in the squad, same happened with Scholes and Giggs but were United shitting on them?

I know our team won 4:1 and Im happy with the result or performance, BUT RLC played two very good games and all reward he gets is last 10 minutes in following game?
Im sure he wasnt injured or tired whatsoever. Now obviously Matic and Mikel need playtime aswell, but its up to club to look into future. If we planned on selling Mikel, there was little need to keep playing him. But the board obviously values him higher than currenty our best youth player. And that says alot. Thats what is wrong with the club and why we dont succeed in youth to first team transition. Because we keep spending time with players like Mikel, Iva who should not be considered our future and as result negate RLC, Baba etc.
I have tons of respect to Iva and Mikel for what they did, but I simply dont see them anywhere near team if we actualy want to compete for top again.
Meanwhile, RLC plays two good games and he gets benched. And that is by far not the only example. Where is Kenedy these days (is he injured?)
Once the club will start looking in future, grow some balls and experiment little more, only then we might see some positive out of youth school.
Playing RLC these final games when we have nothing to lose, while Ruben would get invaluable experience that might turn him into our midfielder for next 10 years or playing Mikel because he had decent season (and we still had poor results) because someone in board thinks he could be starter next season...
We gotta start giving some younger players a serious chances and not just playing players based on their fame.

My word.. it seems that people can solely thrive within negativity, are not they ?
The Board is what it is and you will never be able to change that. However, you can change yourself. So, if giving to Terry a proper farewell is such a crucial thing to your eyes, then why are you not doing this instead of being passive and moaning that someone else does not do that for you ? After all he is your "Captain, Leader, Legend" — the Board has never forced this "legend status" down your throat.
I do not know ; for example, instead of acting like spoiled brats that are not given their sugar, and leave the stadium at the 26th, why not act in a positive way ? You could chant his name till the end of the game ; you could do a giant tifosi with his portrait and the number 26 ; hire a little plane which would fly over the Bridge with a banner that reads "Captain, Leader, Legend... goodbye" ; all the fans going to those two games could take their jersey "Terry 26" and brandish it at the 26th minute, or wear it the other way around all the game so he can see it ; etc...
The fans that sang for di Matteo at the 16th during games, after he was fired, did not need the Board. The fans that displayed anti-Benitez posters did not need the Board. The fans that sang "Mourinho" again and again, after he was fired, did not need the Board. United fans that hired the plane with the banner "wrong one—Moyes out" did not need their Board. Why should you ?
I hope that nobody walks out at the 26th minute, it would be extremely pueril. Terry is already unfortunate to be suspended for the remaining games. There is no need to add more negativity to this moment and to make a grotesque gesture. Yes in the best of the world the Board will offer Terry the best of the testimonials but manifestly we are not in such a world. Terry will leave one and only once. And you have a lot of cheap ways to offer him a positive farewell/goodbye. So do your best to make this a positive moment to which you will look back with proud ; and not a cringeworthy one to which you will look back with regrets.

Can't stand that fans even if he starts play'n incredibly well he gets bashed... just giv credit where it is due... dunno what they expect of him...

It's called respecting a legend. People like you have absolutely no idea. It's horrible that he's there but he did so much for us that it shouldn't matter. We let him go, it's football. He didn't leave us for them, he was given the opportunity and he took it like many would. Nobody can question his love for Chelsea.
The fans are simply appreciating what he did in his 13 years here. What's wrong with that?

It's not a case of 'owing' anything, it's a case of having class and a moral compass, something he has marketed himself as having.
Chelsea's Del Piero, Totti and Gerrard all rolled into one moved directly to our only title rival, that's unforgivable. The lie just shows how aware he was that it could damage his image, which shows he understands what it all means after the badge pissing, telling us he loves the club, saying he wouldn't join 'or play' against us for another English side. The fans turned a blind eye to the AVB situation, clearly after that he took us for fools.
