I will believe in their chances of making the first team when current loanees actually return and contribute more than one match

Chicharito like Tevez seems to score for fun against Chelsea and I'm hoping Cech comes up with some great saves to deny Tevez the way he did Chichi

I can't blame Lukaku for wanting to hone his craft on loan next season. He wants to be a first choice selection next season at striker for club and country so I can't fault him. The revolving door of managers works against young players on loan because they have no idea where they fit in when the club doesn't even have a long term manager with a philosophy to tailor players to. Lukaku should go to Bayer Leverkusen instead of KDB who actually wants to return.

In a way the rumors reminded me of Pep talking about how great the BPL is and then the next day agreeing to manage in Germany. Jose could just be using his Chelsea past to get out of Madrid and then go off to PSG or wherever. I'm not getting my hopes up. I've seen the board make odd decisions and this seems too easy to me to hire Jose. Emenalo and co have a project involving pimping out young players then bringing them back when they succeed to save money and Roman can't supply Jose with the spending money he once did before with FFP involved. Jose would have to relax a bit and let growing pains happen with such a young squad and it will take more than two years to build a winner here with so many experienced players going out the door over the next two seasons. I wish he'd stop kissing up to Rudolph the red nosed manager because it makes me want to puke.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/jose-mourinho-set-stun-football-1816250? With PSG's endless cash and Fergie not yet ready to step down, this is a real possibility. Ugh.

I have a feeling that Rafa will be given the job full time. Mata is sticking up for Rafa saying he's the right man for Chelsea. A few months ago Rafa says he had no say in transfers, but now I'm seeing the board is getting input from a guy who's not supposed to be there next season? A strong finish to end the season makes Emenalo or whoever suggested him in the first place feel like a genius. Rafa said a few months ago he wanted to return to Spain, now it's a top side in England. Torres doesn't want to leave and he says Rafa being hired made him happy, blah blah blah. I just feel like nothing regarding these two will change and they will both be at Chelsea next season.

I'm in the "non story" camp. KDB is coming back.

I have yet to see Mikel on any critics' top ten list for defensive midfielders in the EPL let alone the world and all he's asked to do is the same dirty job that Makelele did with little fanfare in that position and I can only assume Roman doesn't put a lot of value in that position. AVB did and he sought out Romeu. That's a young player whom if he gets over his injury can make that position his and his alone. He can start attacks, get involved and score a goal. Reads it well too. Not take casual strolls or make a dumb fart brained pass to the opposition. Rafa saw that potential, christ I can't believe I'm agreeing with him, but had it not been for the injury Mikel would still be on that bench. Has anyone else notice a club try to offer a deal for Mikel? Says a lot to me.
-
First you say we the Mikel bashers who piss and moan about him will come to regret it but all I see is how Chelsea needs to accomodate him with tweaks in formations and surrounding him with certain players. Excuses excuses. You say Mikel is RESTRICTED but in a prior post you say he's a DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDER who's job is not to do fancy tricks and shit just do the basics, now you say give him freedom to attack. WTF?
-
Instability and what ten trophies? It makes for good drama I guess and makes forums like this entertaining in the long run. Personally I'd love more EPL titles but the CL doesn't hurt. English media hates us and I love it. Roman came in when all it was was just Arsenal and United trading titles and he crashed the party, took a dump in the punch bowl and it shook the league for the better, so stability can suck it I love chaos.

I think it is a ploy to drive the price up. So much for the Barca connections. They probably have bigger plans with Gerard Deulofeu than to pay the crazy money for Neymar. I can't see him going to Bayern or City. He's got plenty of friends at Chelsea though. Make it happen Roman!
-
And yes I know Benat is a central midfielder, you just like him in a pivot if that's the future formation still, but Capoue, Bender, etc etc
-
But aren't you one who's been mentioning Capoue's name for months in the transfer thread as an upgrade over Mikel? If I'm wrong I apologize, just seems like you mentioned he and Benat over and over along with others DM's.

I think Emenalo and company took a high risk gamble to let contracts expire after this season and sell/loan a few prior to the season because they projected their loanees being given a chance to get valuable minutes, assess them after and decide to give them the vacated spots or pursue a few on the market in the summer. They need to avoid massive wages and get depth through the loanees to fit their projected budget in line with FFP. I'm sure they could have added a Lukaku or De Bruyne this season but with so many experienced players with massive wages in front of them they were only going to get little minutes and not get the great seasons they are having right now which is why so many of us want them back tommorow. Do I agree with this move no but in hindsight it was better for those young players and the trend will continue next season with Ake, Feruz, etc
-
Was the point of this article to get the youth a chance by missing a top four spot? If they're good enough they will play in the first team bottom line. If Chelsea miss the top four and struggle to achieve it again next season say goodbye to Hazard, Oscar and Mata. They have their place in the NT to think about as well and they need exposure at the highest levels to keep their place. If you want to argue that they are safe in the NT is one thing but it's embarrassing to see these great players want out. I have faith in Chalobah, Cortouis, KDB, Lukaku and a few others claiming spots on the roster next season anyways.
-
So then there was no pre agreement with Mourinho then. Just more speculation fueled by Jose's fondness for England that the media ran with. I should have known better.
-
I doubt Chelsea ever made a second approach and it's been all speculation. 50 million for someone getting close to 30 yrs of age is ridiculous. Someone who's just going to be isolated up top waiting for the service that won't always be there because Chelsea have attacking midfielders with a selfishness about them looking to score which is fine with me but not ideal for Falcao who needs plenty of service having that monumental price tag over his head. You run the risk of him losing confidence and repeating Torres and Sheva all over again. When KDB gets in the mix there's going to be a lot of crosses and long balls by him that someone like Lukaku can benefit from.
-
It's been a miserable season, the owner doesn't want you anymore, being asked to play in a defensive position, a position that he's hurting the back four and exposing Mikel by bombing forward all for the pursuit of a record out of selfishness. Yeah I can see how he mentally checked out and doesn't give a fuck really. Rafa's first choice pairing down the stretch of the season should always be Mikel and Ramires and Lamps off the bench in relief of Mata with an odd start. He only cares about his offensive side because he wants to remain in Hodgson's WC plans and I can't really blame him when the club has made it clear he has no future with them.
-
It's the result of pathetic depth in the squad. Marin and Moses bring little.
-
Demba should walk down to Rafa and just punch him in the face
-
Kalas doesn't need another loan. He has done everything asked of him at Vitesse aplaying two positions and from what I've seen he's good enough for the first team. Solid player.
-
I'm sure Roman made it clear he is done with Lampard. Jose can hire Torres to be his new maid.
-
We'll let Mourinho decide.
-
The media spins his comments out of control in a negative the same way they have done with Courtois and Lukaku. They go off the past failures of young players making the first team and assume there is no future for this group either. The media want to chase the bigger stories like Falcao and Neymar, linking them to the club, not youngsters developing on loan.
