  1. I just hope Diego Costa has a positive impact on our team (assuming the deal is pretty much done) I've been critical of Diego Costa in my previous posts...but considering the other realistic options are Balotelli and Mandzukic, signing Diego Costa seems like the best option. Physical player, good header of the ball, solid finisher, has that edge in his game As for the World Cup...I don't know the full back story but Diego Costa never seemed like the right fit into Spain's style....he would of been a nice plan B for Brazil's NT
  2. Provided that we sign a quality LB, our defence won't be that far behind Atletico's! E.g. Azpi - JT - GC - Luis is quite similar to: Juanfran - Miranda - Godin - Luis
  3. We could just recall Atsu from Vitesse, rather than buying this kid Atsu has been a bright spark for Ghana in the World cup, both against USA and Germany..
  4. Juventus sign another French talent (on a free transfer)...first it was Pogba and now Kingsley Coman http://www.football-italia.net/50888/juventus-snap-psg-talent-coman
  5. If only we didn't have Willian...Alexis Sanchez would have been a nice addition to our squad
  6. Tracksuits just look tacky. His clothes may not represent Chelsea...but... He's the manager of a massive football club, earning millions...it can't be that hard to put on a matching shirt and pants
  7. What credit does he deserve? He's a solid player who had a strong season in Jose's tactics Would he be able to replicate those performances for a team that isn't as well structured like Arsenal or Tottenham? I doubt it
  8. Koeman unveiled as Southampton manager, his brother will be assistant.
  9. Can't wait to see Costa in a Chelsea shirt, we'll finally be able to tell if he's actually a quality striker or a flash in the pan!
  10. Atsu needs playing time...being Chelsea's 6th attacking midfielder will do f*ck all for his development At least if we loan him out to a more competitive league (Germany maybe?) and he does well, it would increase his 'value' in the market
  11. Hopefully the rumors are false! Sanchez would actually improve Liverpool's attack
  12. 2 positions? Without Ramires, there is NO defensive cover in midfield Could you imagine if Matic gets injured...neither Fabregas or Kroos is that good defensively and Van Ginkel is only coming back from a long term injury
  13. I just don't think we need Kroos though (unless Oscar leaves) A midfield group of Matic, Rambo, Fabregas, Oscar, Van Ginkel, maybe Chalobah seems good enough
  14. Where would you play Kroos though? I don't think he'd join Chelsea to sit on the bench
  15. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/jun/15/southampton-new-manager-ronald-koeman Southampton's new manager is going to be Ronald Koeman Interesting choice
  16. Obviously, yes injury-prone or not, if Falcao is available, take the risk.
  17. The starting lineups aren't for the entire season....it's more along the lines of what everyone feels will be the 'preferred XI/ strongest XI' next season (without accounting for injuries, form, opponent)
  18. Courtois Azpi - JT - Cahill - new LB Oscar(Rambo) -- Matic -- Fabregas Willian (Schurrle) -- Costa -- Hazard
  19. The question with Oscar will always be consistency until he's able to play a part in winning back the league title I hope Oscar has a strong world cup and continues the good form with Chelsea next season
  20. If only he could play like this for Chelsea...on a consistent basis
  21. Not sure why we loaned him to Cologne...he'd be better off at an EPL club
  22. http://www.espnfc.co.uk/story/1870695 Joe Cole moving to Aston Villa on a free transfer Best of luck to him
  23. If only Costa was as good as Drogba, I'd agree
  24. I can see where your coming from....but for some reason, he just sounds like a confused 21 year old who has received poor advice from agents/management in a World cup year I totally agree that he talks a bit too much....but he's still young, and I'm sure José and Chelsea's leadership group can teach him how to deal with press conferences and interviews
