  1. I don't think Zouma is classified as Homegrown.
  2. Sad to see Lampard go but at this stage of his career, it seems like a good move. Hopefully he comes back to Chelsea someday!
  3. Signing a 28 year old LB for 20 million doesn't make sense...when you can get Shaw for another 8-10 million.
  4. What I was trying to say: Van Ginkel has room to grow and that he's not at Strootman's level of dictating the pace of a game.
  5. Strootman can control a game, Van Ginkel can't do that yet.
  6. I'm guessing signing Tiago means we won't be seeing any young midfielders in the squad next season
  7. We still need to sign a partner for Matic....which will probably cost 30-40 million depending on the player
  8. Sad to see him go, good player, had his ups and downs Hopefully this money is well spent on finding a partner for Matic
  9. Hopefully the next person to be sold is Torres/Mikel
  10. From what i've heard, Pasalic is likely to be loaned to an Italian or German club
  11. I think you're overestimating the potential midfield of Fibreglass and Matic.
  12. Hope he signs for United, a stronger EPL can only be a good thing. Also considering his actions against Lampard and Ballack, he doesn't deserve to play for Chelsea
  13. From recent reports/articles...apparently Bamford could be third choice next season....not sure how that will work I don't think Ba is good enough to be leading the line (in the case where Costa/insert-name gets injured or needs a breather)
  14. Courtois comments: 'The two of us want to play everything. Nobody will be happy to play in only the League Cup or FA Cup. Things are unclear at the moment,' 'I have the biggest respect for Petr Cech. He is one of the best goalkeepers in the world, so I think putting him and me in the same team is not the healthiest thing in the world' Courtois paid respect to Cech and basically said it wouldn't be right for either keeper to sit on the bench at Chelsea next season. Nothing wrong with those comments If you think there is something wrong with his comments, then I'm afraid you're digging too deep into a non-issue
  15. Could you provide examples of homegrown squad players capable of contributing to Jose's tactics? All I see is players of similar quality to Bertrand and Moses....as in: solid players for lower-EPL teams
  16. Unless the coach takes a gamble...all this talk of promising youngsters means nothing If one of: Chalobah/Baker/Aké are part of the first team next season...then there's hope for the likes of Aina, DaSilva
  17. England still lack a quality defensive midfielder...if only Rodwell's career wasn't ruined by injury, he would of been a solid addition to the likes of Wilshere, Gerrard & Henderson
  18. Your previous suggestion about Lampard staying as a player-coach is a good option. He's still one of our leaders from midfield and with his level of experience, he could probably pass on useful advice to the likes of Van Ginkel, Chalobah (if he's part of the first team) throughout next season
  19. Chelsea don't need to decide...just sign Costa and worry about fixing our midfield issues Mandzukic is nothing special.
  20. Congrats to La Liga Champions - Atletico Madrid
  21. The best combination would be Costa and someone like Firmino (good eye for goal, solid playmaking skills, can play as striker or #10 depending on situation) As for Lukaku, he should come back after the World Cup ready to fight for a place at Chelsea....simple as that
  22. Totally agree....I actually think Aké has to go out on loan. Playing in the U-21's next season would just stagnate his development Would be interesting to see Aké or Baker go on loan to Middlesbrough next season Back to the Luiz topic...I love him as a player but 30 million could help us sign a top-class midfielder
  23. I would be surprised if Mourinho ended up buying both Costa and Mandzukic...
  24. We will have won the league & Courtois will be our #1 keeper
  25. Even though I'd love to see the club keep Ashley Cole...at this stage of his career, if he wants to move on and finish his career elsewhere (as in outside the EPL), I don't think we should stand in his way Just last week...saw this rumour: http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/474792/EXCLUSIVE-Monaco-offer-Chelsea-s-Ashley-Cole-bumper-two-year-contract
