  1. How much is the "fee"? Why don't they just lower the Costa fee for us? Win-win situation
  2. I don't see the big issue about Courtois playing against Chelsea. He gets to experience a UCL Semi-final and we get to test ourselves against a solid defence which happens to include Courtois!
  3. Even if United make all those signings...they won't be better than 3rd in the EPL with MOYES in charge. I still think our main rival next year: City. I'm expecting Liverpool to drop off a little bit as their players should be more fatigued from CL football
  4. I completely agree, he was on fire during the early matches of this season....but since January, his performances have been below-par Maybe it's just fatigue setting in...hopefully he works on conditioning during the off-season and comes back a better player
  5. The lack of winning mentality comes from the manager. If you don't win anything for 8 straight years...how are you supposed to motivate your players in the big matches? Arsenal need a fresh face in the dugout
  6. Hope Ashley Cole and Salah get to start....the rest of the team picks itself Prediction: Swansea 1-2 Chelsea
  7. You can't stop thinking of Barkley as an AM..because that's his position: the most advanced of Everton's three midfielders. Barry and McCarthy do the dirty work in midfield and then Barkley gets forward to support Mirallas, Naismith/Pienaar and Lukaku I'm not sure how well Matic + Barkley with Oscar as the CAM would work...but it doesn't look like the right combination.
  8. We are basically playing 4-2-3-1: -------------Striker----------- Hazard --- Oscar -- Willian -------Matic -- new player --------Back Four----------- ---------Goalkeeper-------- The problem is...Barkley isn't experienced enough to sit deep and play alongside Matic...his best position seems to be as the most advanced midfielder. Even at Everton, Barkley has the support of two deeper midfielders in terms of Barry and McCarthy. If Everton are willing to sell, I'd much rather sign McCarthy instead of Barkley as Matic's new partner.
  9. I was surprised that more clubs didn't make a bid on Eriksen, whilst he was at Ajax. Perfect CAM
  10. Wenger has to be considered a genius... In over 8 years, he has turned the Arsenal invincibles into a joke. He has won f*ck all, lost the Carling Cup to Birmingham, and he's managed to lower the fans expectations to a point where they are 'satisfied' with a 4th place trophy Yet, he still sits on the sidelines and gets paid a nice salary Arsenal has some quality players...but that losing mentality seems to have spread through the squad...there is no more fight in the team
  11. Perfect squad player to have. Can't believe we managed to get him for such a low fee!
  12. The best thing for HIM would be earning a permanent move to Everton and working with a manager who believes in him. (If they get UCL football, Everton should be able to afford him) It's pretty clear that Mourinho doesn't see Lukaku as his main man...so why should he come back to Chelsea and get the Sturridge treatment?
  13. The problem is...our team isn't complete! What I would love to see with Mourinho: A solid goalkeeper (Courtois/Cech) A solid back-four (Azpi - Terry - Cahill - new LB) Two defensive mids ( Matic - new player) Center-midfielder... (Oscar) Two attacking mids ( Willian/Schurrle - Hazard) A quality striker (Costa/Balotelli/Bony?)
  14. He doesn't "need" Chelsea...if he chose to leave, there would definitely be alot of interest in his services We have a 20 year old who has scored 29 goals in roughly 60 EPL games....yet just because he left the club to improve his skills and play reguarly in a world cup year, we're willing to sell him?
  15. Comparing anyone to Frank is a bit harsh. If all the youngsters had Frank's level of work ethic in the training ground, we wouldn't need to spend so much cash...
  16. Wasn't Mido one of the first Egyptian's to play at a relatively big EPL club (Tottenham) back in 2005/2006?
  17. He's died down more than a bit.... He's not even half the player he was before January. I would put him next to Ramires in the below-par category in terms of recent performances
  18. How is Mandzukic part of that list? He's not that great. Also, regarding Lukaku wanting a loan...can you blame him? He knew if Chelsea signed an experienced striker (e.g Eto'o), he would fall down the pecking order to third choice whilst the Spanish flop got chance after chance after chance to prove himself... The kid is 20, has said multiple times his dream is to play for Chelsea, he's built like a bull, seems to know how to score goals....what more could you want from a young striker?
  19. The question remains...why is his Chelsea career over? Unless he had a bust up with Mourinho in the training ground, something doesn't add up... He's 20 years old...would be a perfect impact striker off the bench....and he's still got a few years to refine his skill set
  20. Lukaku hasn't done anything wrong. Selling him will be a MISTAKE, just like Sturridge He can easily become a 20-goal striker for us, just needs faith from Mourinho
  21. http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1773684/aston-villa-belgium-striker-christian-benteke-world-cup?cc=3436 Benteke out of the World cup? Massive opportunity for Lukaku to lead the line for Belgium..
  22. Can't believe that in 2 seasons time, we will basically have a new spine to our team... Cech, Terry, Lampard all gone... I guess it's time for change.
