  1. I read a few places where pundits mentioned that Van Ginkel had the higher ceiling due to age As in Van Ginkel is only 21 with so much development left in him...in comparison, Strootman is 24 and he's pretty much finished his development
  2. I guess the positive for Southampton is the new manager will get to sign the players that fit his tactics... Hope they don't get relegated this season
  3. The difference between Chalobah and Pogba is the latter always seemed to have that 'edge' to his game, played with a chip on his shoulder Chalobah is a quality talent...but due to the likes of Aké, RLC, even Baker progressing through the youth ranks, his chances of making it at Chelsea are becoming increasingly slim It's interesting when you think about it...a few years ago, McEachran and Chalobah were two of the most promising talents in England...now due to poor loan spells, they could be heading for the exit door sooner rather than later
  4. Sam Mcqueen could be one of the players promoted this season
  5. He is a massive talent but there's no point in making him stay and play with the reserves... Assuming Mikel and Romeu stay, there's no space for him in midfield I get the feeling he may end up like Jack Cork (sold for 500k to a Championship club) and ends up having a solid PL career
  6. I wouldn't be surprised to see a 3 man midfield in the big games... Maybe something like: Fabregas -- Ramires/MVG --------- Matic --------------
  7. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/28497920 Arsenal snap up Calum Chambers for only 16 million
  8. If Mikel leaves, then I'd rather keep Romeu However, if Mikel doesn't get sold, then MVG should stay
  9. Klose is not a target man. He's a poacher with good positioning Drogba isn't half the player he used to be.
  10. From what i've heard, Friedel will be more of a coach than a player this season. That leaves Lloris and Vorm as the main options for Pochettino
  11. A ban? For what? I thought we were allowed to talk about other football clubs other than Chelsea in the General Transfer Talk thread...
  12. http://www.independent.ie/sport/soccer/transfer-window/gylfi-sigurdsson-completes-swansea-move-as-ben-davies-and-michel-vorm-move-in-the-other-direction-30455135.html Tottenham get Ben Davies (LB) and Michel Vorm (GK) and Swansea get Sigurdsson Good deal for both sides
  13. At the very least, MVG gives us another competitive option in midfield
  14. I like Porto as well! Love the way they give youngsters a chance to excel Also, Porto gave us a brilliant Portuguese CB and one of the best coaches in the world about 10 years ago :blue scalf:
  15. I'd like to see Bamford play a few more games before we make him our 3rd striker
  16. Benfica and Porto have the best South American partnerships in the world... They'll just snap up the next wonderkid...play him for 18 months and then sell him off for 20-25 million
  17. It wasn't a free transfer....Stoke will end up paying 3 million based on the amount of games Bojan plays...
  18. The problem is, he's never up for it. He plays like 1 good game then goes missing for the next 10 or 15 games
  19. At the end of the day, he's just rubbish at the #10 position
  20. Well written, totally agree Oscar will always be a light-weight CM playing the attacking midfielder role It was unfortunate to see Mata leave the club...hopefully the signing of Fabregas will help fill the creative void this season
  21. Mourinho is not gonna put up with shit and I'm not sure Lukaku is mature enough to deal with sitting on the bench I think he'll be sold in January...similar to the transfer of KDB
  22. Because Long rejected 3 contract extension offers with 6 months left on his previous deal... Then West Brom decided to get around 7 million...rather than let him go on a free transfer
  23. Maybe he felt that with Cole leaving the club and Chelsea's lack of Home-grown players...he'd be given an opportunity to fight for a first-team spot At the end of the day, it just wasn't meant to be with Bertrand
