I have to tell you, this relaxed feeling on deadline day is really nice.

You'd actually think we've sold a young R9 for peanuts with how Chelsea fans are going on about Lewis Hall on Twitter and Youtube videos.
Then I read how we keep making this same mistake with our academy talents and how they turn into stars. And how Billy Gilmour leaving was a mistake too.
I sat there and scratched my head trying to think of a single academy player we let go that we are upset about to this day... Not one came to mind...

I know Cucurella is terrible but am I missing something with Hall? He was ok but nothing spectacular last season, has an attacking instinct but is bad in finishing, also made some terrible mistakes while trying to dribble near penalty area. If he wasn't from Cobham noone would give a shit about him.

Guess I am alone in not wanting us to spend £120m on an excellent DM then...
When did defensive midfielders become the most valuable position on the pitch? Just bizarre to me.

110 mil for a DMF.
Glad we didn’t pay. There will be better options for far less. Stop gap type for now and find something else. Ugo or Adams could be a bright surprise.

what is Everton asking?
it wasn't like I used a supercomputer to correctly predict the £60m for Mount
I just split the difference on the first serious price we put on him (£80m, as there was some places that said £85m, but no legit sources backed that up)
and then Manure's lowball initial offer (£40m)
and said the average of the two would be what he went for (£120m divided by 2 yielded £60m)

We need to decide which team to support in Saudi next season lol
That league is going to be interesting. Definitely every country will buy TV rights. In Europe you already know City, Bayern, PSG will win titles.

This Jackson fella looks really tidy on the ball mate. Got a good feeling about this one. An added bonus is he genuinely looks like Drogba when he is running. 😆

This guy really brings an air of positivity to the club that I haven't seen in a long, long time. With Jose it was always 'us vs. the world' but Conte seems to bring a passionate humility about him. He seems so hungry to succeed, a hunger I haven't seen in Jose for a long time, probably not since his first stint. I feel like he'll utilise our youth a lot better than Jose too, we have one of the best academies in the world and some very talented players that just need polishing. I think Conte can do that. He has the track record. Let's hope a few guys come through soon. Early signs are extremely positive.

Refreshing to see United playing the same dross, predictable & old fashioned 4-2-3-1. Non existent pressing game, just a bunch of players sitting deep, waiting for Dortmund to give away possession so that they can break on the counter. Even when Dortmund subbed in most of their youngsters. Mourinho can't and won't get out of his comfort zone for his life and I'm so glad we got rid of him. It's like he's stuck in time and thinks that the old tactics that used to work 8-10 years ago will bail him out of jail. He is so outdated in terms of tactical aspect it's unbelievable.

it makes me curious. I'm dying to know what his new ideas for our football will be
Damn being a girl comes with a lot of territory. I get anxious and curious instead of crazy about it, lol
I think your comment is the ignorant one, not Styles' and Conte's. I mean, Mourinho is (was, whatever) undoubtedly one of the best managers in the last years and he's never played in high level. Good for him, nothing wrong with that. It doesn't take away that having a manager that has been a high level player is also great. At the end of the day, it's the whole package that matters, not yesterdays' experience whether in the pitch or in the dugout. His comment was from someone who had the same injury and I see why Styles commented on that. It must a great thing for Happy to have someone who's been there around him right now, not only guiding him, but certainly encouraging too. This is great. Of course, if Conte was only about that, it would suck, but this is a nice surplus to his many positives.
This last part is not directed on you per say, but why do I feel like management is still a touchy subject in this forum? Is it only me? Not every comment is a dig on Mourinho. He's past, I for one have a huge respect and gratitude for him, he's still the Special One for me because of his history with the club, but he's not here anymore and even more relevant, he's the enemy now. I love the man, but if we have to destroy him playing against United, I'm all for it. In the pitch, respect gives space to competitiveness and Mourinho is now opponent, so in that context, his history here while respectable, isn't the focus anymore. I'll be happy to make him a victim. I look to the past and I respect him - not all his moments, but most of them, I don't hold onto that. Ofc that's a personal matter and everyone is entitled to react how they please, but I feel some veiled Mourinho defensiveness around. It's time to let it go imo. He certainly did.
It's about time we exorcise the Mourinho ghost.

I don't know what it is, whether its his lack of English(though he's pretty good) or if its his passion or just my blind optimism but I get this feeling Antonio Conte is going to rewrite the history books for Chelsea FC. There is something about this guy... I can't quite put my finger on it but I just feel his demeanour and work ethic will be the perfect compliment to what we have on and off the pitch.

meetdoscar got a reaction from Beigl in 🇧🇪 Michy Batshuayi
while he shares some similarities to wilfried bony i think batsman is faster, more mobile, likes to use his strength and dribbles more. I also see similarities to obafemi martins, the nigerian striker formerly at inter milan and newcastle united. But batsman has more finesse and composure
