A lot of praise for the suits so far. However, which ever way you cut it, they would have had the ultimate yay or nay over Lampard staying or going. They made a major wrong decision imo.

Double 'like' if possible !

Getting off topic now -lets keep taliking about Super, Super Frank

Thats true. People are pretty entrenched in their degrees of pissed offness, and think other people on this forum should feel the same. Aint gonna happen.

Shrews manager- Jose Mourinho and his Stamford Bridge stars will arrive at Greenhous Meadow on either October 28 or 29 as Shrewsbury bid to reach the fifth round for only the second time in their history. And Mellon said he was delighted for everyone connected with the club and the town after being drawn against one of Europe’s elite. He said: “I think it is brilliant for everyone and is exactly what this club has been missing. My phone hasn’t stopped and I bet the players are dancing around their living rooms. “Chelsea at home – it couldn’t be any better for the people of Shrewsbury. Mourinho and all his stars are coming to town. “It’s a wow moment. It is incredible and it’s what the football club deserved and needed. With everything that has gone on over the past few years, I just want all the fans to come along and enjoy it.” Shrewsbury secured their place in the fourth round of the competition following a brilliant win against Championship Norwich on Tuesday night with a James Collins header securing a 1-0 victory. The goal saw Town reach the fourth round of the competition for the first time since the 1986-87 season. Mellon said: “We really wanted to be drawn against one of the big boys. For me it’s an amazing chance to take on arguably the best manager in the world, but this isn’t about me. “This is about the people of Shrewsbury. We wanted the football gods to smile on us and they have done – it’s going to be fantastic for the whole area. “We wanted a big team and it just doesn’t get any bigger than Chelsea. It’s a brilliant, brilliant draw.” But Mellon warned his stars they have to perform against Southend of Saturday and in the games running up to the tie to have any chance of being involved. He added: “Southend is still the biggest game. My players need to make sure they concentrate and don’t lose focus.” Love this bit - “We wanted a big team and it just doesn’t get any bigger than Chelsea. It’s a brilliant, brilliant draw.”

Heard a few comments last night 'Traitor' ' Hes dead to me' etc. These were the same people that were asking where certain stands were, and loads didnt recognise Zola when he walked past

Thats it I am burning my lampard shirt, pants, and Frankie Doll Mask and making a ''Fuck Off Fat Frank You Judas'' banner out of a stained bedsheet for the return fixture
-
Passion, cheering, fighting, jeering, chelsea till I die - just need to stand back a bit now and again. Only scousers or gooners would call their ex players judas. That would be sprayed on a grubby bedsheet
-
Good write up on how we cheered Frank at the end. Apparently we have class and dignity - and there was me thinking we're just a bunch of drunken foul mouthed yobs when we travel To my mind the only fans that would have a scruffy old bedsheet sprayed 'Judas' would be liverpool or arsenal fans. Come on, we're better than that. http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/des-kelly-chelsea-fans-add-a-touch-of-dignity-and-class-to-a-world-of-football-excess-9748082.html

Yup thats one point of view, and I subscribe to it. However, theres no prescriptive point of view that has to be taken on it. Sometimes its good to stand back a bit, and see top flight football for what it is- a big business corporate profit whore fest, instead of trying to compete with other fans over who wears the biggest heart on their sleeve.

Thats right, the sooner people realise this the better. Lampards goal was the Dennis Law moment, when he backheeled into the net for City to send United down, a club where hed been a legend for years. Fans invest time, travel and money, and varying degrees of emotional attachment into what the owners, players and agents see as little more than corporate brands. For that reason I dont begrudge any fan calling players cunts, booing, -they have earned the right to be as critical as they want. I just cant get that worked up about it, as generally the clubs give scant regard to the fans, now they take the TV revenue for granted. On the positive, theres a really good vibe with Chelsea atm, optimism, great manager, board seeing sense, beast up front- similar vibe in and around the Bridge to 2004-5. Yesterday was just a little soap opera moment in the CFC saga. There will be others.

He has a fantastic history at Chelsea, but he was an employee of the club, bottom line. His services were no longer required, and another employer acquired his services. Get over the jilted manlove. Its a money driven sport, forget all the badge kissing, 99% of it is bollocks
-
Manuel, what a bitter old cunt. Instead of slating us for playing 'like a small club' he should be congratulating Jose for doing his homework. Man City wouldnt have a title race on their hands if they had Jose or another quality manager, instead they have a mediocre Chilean, with a 1972 haircut who looks as though he should be haunting old castles.

Letting Lampard go can no way be blamed for us not winning the league this year... If we dont go on and do it. Our squad is incredibly strong and more than capable. Itll be down to the players not making stupid mistakes like not tracking James Milner that'll cost us. These are things we can sort out thankfully. The rest is all in place.. even without Super Frank in the ranks, we've got goals, creativity and mettle. Just need to sand a few rough edges out mainly at the back.
-
But what about the double pivot ?
-
Agree with that, but Mourinho this morning said Costa wont start.
-
Yeah fuck this analytical "clever', oooh look at me type posts. Dumbing down from now on, a cheap pun, or just 'Rooney is a cunt' type posts is the way forward
-
We could afford the draw tonight, Drogba needed the minutes, long old season ahead.
-
Plenty of life left in the old Drog yet, hes only played 70 mins ffs!
-
Thought he did a decent job myself, probably more than any of last season's would have offered. It was tough asking him to start up there on his own with lack of match fitness etc. and completely new style to adapt to. Would personally have either started him alongside Remy or brought him on with 20/25 mins to go

Having our morals brought into question, by a man on the Murdoch payroll, is laughable. From all the evidence over the years, at a stretch the ethics of how Roman made his money can be questioned, but there's nothing to suggest that he ever broke the law. Is it football fans' place to get involved in moral soul-searching about their club's owner when they don't know the facts and ultimately can do fuck all about it anyway? Syed seems to think it is, which is up to him, but if he thinks that's the case yet strangely it's not his place to question his paymaster's various indiscretions, then he's a hypocrite and needs to get off his high horse.
-
Brilliant at holding when 1-0 up with 70 mins left, but not someone to be a game changer when we're 2-0 down. Integral to Joses methodology.
-
Did they have two minutes silence for Gerrards retirement from England ?
-
TV and internet streams coupled with aggressive marketing is what all top clubs do, but success on the pitch is paramount, otherwise profits plummet as has been happening with Man Utd. Fans want to be associated with winners.

Ozil is totally ozilrated
