  1. Glad we have some people. I couldnt commit myself with work commitments, and will be doing a fair bit of attached travelling . And actual games as well...
  2. I dont agree with Term X view, but it shows he cares about the club in his way. The view seems naeve in todays business money orientated game, but it shows hes passionate.
  3. We're the first to have LED floodlights http://www.mondoarc.com/news/2507797/chelsea_football_club_first_to_adopt_led_floodlights.html (smoke and mirrors to make it look like Fernando has scored)
  4. Might have saved the club, but he missed the chance to buy the club for £1m when land in West Brompton cost £200 000 an acre. He also nearly bankrupted the club in 2003 before RA took over, so, an astute businessman ? I will never forgive him for sacking Osgood as a meet and greet in around 2002. I met Osgood , drinking with him for about two hours and he was down and bitter about it. He also said how Bates had turned away Ian Hutchinson -Hutch ! a fucking CFC legend. Lets be clear about this Ken Bates has never done anything that isnt for Ken Bates.
  5. Agree with the most part, but even Le Tis had an ulterior motive and that was because his folks were in Guernsey
  6. Been wearing the wrong shade of blue since 1998. Bring back the Royal Blue, proper Chels
  7. It was obvious when he squared up to JT he has a short fuse and is going to lose it several times this season
  8. Torres to score 15-20 goals spurred on by Costa and Fibreglass Abramovich to lose patience and sack Mourinho in January
  9. Get over yourselves. Simple reality of life is that fans are more loyal to clubs than players due to money. We pay, they get paid Fans invest emotional attachment in what is little more than a 'brand' , players invest in hedge funds and share portfolios
  10. Interesting holiday snaps.....thought it was Hitzelberger first of all
  11. Worth sticking a fiver on it ? Youll be gutted if it comes true......
  12. Its that time again. Will we win the league ? We havent had a top striker for four years. In the last 7 years we've had one season where a striker has been prolific (Drogba 29 goals in 2009/10). That apart, all our strikers have struggled massively - I include Drogba in that. In the 2 seasons before and after 2009/10 he only gave us 29 goals...shocking return in all honesty. Will Torres find the net regularly along with Costa ? I'm very hopeful of this. He has all the ammo any striker could possibly want or need. Time to step up Nando and score 20+ goals. We need this desperately with Frank gone. Not winning the League last season to my mind will do us a favour over the next few years. It helped the club see that Jose was right when addressing holes in the squad rather than plugging away and keeping on papering over cracks as we've done at times previously. To suggest it was Jose's inadequacies which led to those dropped points is harsh and lets off a lot of players who either underperformed, bottled it or just weren't good enough. So, all in all I predict a top four of ; CHELSEA MAN CITY MAN UTD EVERTON The Guardian reckons we'll do it as well http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2014/aug/05/premier-league-2014-15-preview-chelsea :blue scalf: :blue scalf: :blue scalf:
  13. I suppose reason and logic determines that the blame, if any, lies at the club. But lets not rationality get in the way of petulant knee jerk emotion.........Grrrrrrrrrrr i'm burning the shirt, sending dog shit to frank lampard snr, and death threats to his family. Ive put my foot through the telly and sent the bill to Chelsea TV. GRRRRRRRRRRRR. What a fucking judas !
  14. I dont think I will be worrying tbh. Yes its always a pisser losing, but i heard werder were good, and after years of pre seasons, they really are meaningless, and no indication of whats to come in the new season.
  15. Missed it too. Good job by the sound of it, but seems some are using a pre season friendly to dig out some players and Mourinho....unbelievable.
  16. Whatever is burning in the 2nd pic is not the samsung shirt in the 1st. Croc of shit
  17. True, but conversely he could score a couple that helps us against United or the bindippers. He will want to prove a point to our board, 'look I still have it' but at the end of the day they didnt want to give him a new contract. Nothing can take away his contribution over the years though.
  18. Daily mirror is saying he has told the owners of city he wont play against us. Respect to the man if true.
  19. Not much a fan of stats, but there are a lot worse in terms of game to goal ratio strikers in the league than the round shouldered misfiring one. Andy Carroll 35m, has a ratio of 5.3. games per goal. Cornelius , who ? Exactly, 0 goals in 8 appearances. Torres has a ratio of 3.7 games per goal. Whilst we're on misfiring potential Shed heroes, Shevchenko had a ratio of 3.5, and those of a certain age will remember Mr Robert Fleck. An outstanding 48 fucking games scoring 4 goals. All very academic, and in this day and age of instant gratification sought by fans, Senor Torres exceeds in a general capacity to exasperate.
  20. Torres admiited he made a mistake, and said he grew up when Di Matteo arrived. That phenomenum is widespread throughout the Premier league and all countries when players are not picked. It comes down to maturity and attitude, it is borne out of frustration, and I can not fault his attitude atm. If we want to count tantrums and sulking Drogba was the king of that for his first season. There is no better than Mourinho to get the best out of players. I am not writing him off yet, even though in the main hes been dogshit
  21. We all know Torres is probably the most frustrating aspect -hes taken over from Gourlay- of the club at the moment, the groans at SB and dogs abuse etc. However, credit where credit is due. There are no off pitch tantrums from this man just a willingness to try and make things happen the next game.To see the best of Torres he needs to be fired up but that doesn't happen too often sadly. Get his mind right and we'll see a far better player. Adding Cesc and the loss of Frank (they strike in the same hunting ground imo) could ignite the era we've all been waiting for. Torres will be happy now Costa has taken up lead role and enjoy his arrival and that of Cesc. . He should not be written off imo
  22. Nope. Costa, Drogba & Torres it is with Schurrle if needed. That's a major improvement on last year imo
  23. In Mourinhos biography he expects three attributes from his strikers; 1. Goals. 2. An ability to be the first line of defence. 3.A technical ability to stitch the midfield and attacking phases together. Although hes been scoring, Its patently obvious Lukaku doesnt meet the criteria, and seems reluctant to learn. Diego ticks all the boxes, and if another attacker is signed, Jose wants to see those skills on his CV.
  24. Again, people think its Lukaku v Chels, or Lukaku v Mourinho, but are forgetting the most important catalyst in these dealings -the agents. Hes talented at football, but like most footballers a bit thick/naive. Agents are canny, and will prostitute, cajole, and manouvre their clients towards something that is not always in the best interest of the player, but ensures a lucrative 10% of a transfer fee.
  25. The club/Jose can/will only invest a certain amount of time and effort in a player before cutting losses. If he thinks he's doing us a favour by staying and has an attitude to match ala Sturridge then he can fuck off. It is a shame but it has to be down to him in the end. I think Costa & Drogba is a step up from Eto'o & Ba so I'm not too worried about striking options. I'd rather Torres go and Lukaku stay but if needs be I'd let both leave and keep Bamford as a third striker. Unfortunately I don't think anyone will take Torres so we're stuck with him. At least he's an option, for the odd day when he doesn't look like an escapee remedial.
