Pirlo was a regista - a deep-lying playmaker. On his own he was even a bigger defensive liability than Fabregas. What made him so effective for Juve? Two powerful box to box mids like Marchisio and Vidal who made up for his defensive duties and also contributed a lot to the attacking play, hence giving Pirlo the freedom to orchestrate the match. Even when he was man marked, the beauty of ball-playing centre-backs allowed them to bring the ball out and play on. Fabregas CAN play the Pirlo role. The difference with us is that he does not have the same privileges as Pirlo did, that being two powerful box to box mids. Cesc has to play beside Matic/Mikel who are not only poor but also lack in athleticism and ability to cover distance. Fortunately, Fabregas is that good enough that we can build a midfield around him. By doing that we would be getting the Naingollans and maybe another b2b mid. I would call that killing two birds with a stone, since we desperately need that type of midfielder anyways.

Fuck my life, some here actually want him sold.

Incredible player. To think that Mourinho never game him a proper chance and when he played him in the champions league he benched Azpi and not Iva is just astonishing. He should have started here since day one. Mourinho really fucked us this time around.

Willian and Diego Costa.

Yes Hazard has had a terrible season, but you're acting like Hazard on top form would have made a difference. Many different individuals have been benched after bad performances this season or not been playing due to injury(Ivanovic) but the results have always remained the same. We could have had Messi and it wouldn't have made a big difference. This goes to show that we lacked qualiy as a team much more than quality in individuals. -- I hope Eden plays every game till the end of the season to raise his confidence going into next season. It wouldn't be good for his confidence if we benched him today and for the rest of the season and he started the next one with no goals in ages. A good end the season could be vital to him before the euros as well. And btw, anyone still remember the banner at the sunderland game that called Hazard, Costa and fabs rats? Well the spanish boys have somewhat turned it around and I will be curious to see that woman's attitude towards all three of them come the next season. And its not that she(and many others) called them shit, they called them rats. Talk about idiocy.

Why should we pay 40m for him when we have an amazing young talent in Christensen who has also had champions league experience? For me, Christensen is better than stones. The only reason chelsea would go for someone like Stones instead of trusting Christensen is that 'John Stones' is a fancier name in world football. The same thing happened when oscar was preferred to KDB in 13/14 where it was clear that the latter was better. They never learn.

Tibo's bad form doesn't concern me one bit. In fact, it is better to have a dip in form now where there is nothing to play for rather than next season. He's young, talented, and world class. Letting go of him would be foolish. He will be back to the very top next season. And as if Cech never experienced poor form. People here really like to compare the present to the 'perfect' old times.

Can't wait for this. He will go there but once Pep gets into his head and things start going the wrong way, he will lose it. He'll try to beat Pep as soon as possible and in doing so he'll sacrifice the future of that club. United will be the end of Mourinho. By the end of his time there, United will be in a worse position than they are now.

Addition by subtraction.

I dont know if you remember Cahill's performances in 14/15, but they were absolutely awful. Imo his run of horrible performances was longer than Ivanovic's this season. I still think Mourinho's persistence with Cahill was as bad as his persistence with Ivanovic. Just goes to show how much it takes for him to give a proper chance to one of the best young centre backs around.
-
If he is indeed about to leave, then I thank him for his service. I think all of us here can agree that his time here is up.
-
That's it. No more fucking about in the transfer window. Get the business done and start the next season with full force.
-
Oscar on for kenedy. Gonna seal his place in the team for next year?
-
Harry kane is fucking world class. His finishing and all-round play is sublime.
-
You know what, if we get both Nainggolan and Vidal, we should play Fabregas as a deep-lying-playmaker and not as a cm. That's what Conte did with pirlo during his time with Juve when he had two powerful mids in Vidal and Marchisio protecting him.
-
Smh at some people here. Talk about making a mountain out of a molehill. He said nothing wrong and was misquoted as someone who actually watched the interview confirmed a few posts pack. I'm contemplating whether I should make a list of people who are comparing him to Cech and shove it at their faces when Tibo starts off next season full of confidence and class. For a bunch who always moan about lack of opportunities for youngsters, we really like to have the mentality of comparing them/new players to the old players. I know for a fact that we could get the best centre back in the world in Diego Godin and after one mistake people would start debating whether we should have sold Terry or not.

"The magic of the number 10 comes from the trequartista's feet, the player of inventiveness, the one who is capable of wrong-footing “everyone with a piece of skill perhaps he is not even fully aware of.” - Roberto Mancini This guy shouldn't be a no.10 to begin with, let alone play for a club that wants to be elite.
-
Just go to China please. This fraud of a player wouldn't get a game at Newcastle and here our board treats him like the next Kaka.
-
Juve are a big club and have a big manager. Not so many managers can challenge the 2nd best team in Europe for 120 minutes at the Allianz. Juve would/should have won last night if it wasn't for the referee. Allegri's subs were awful, but normally it's one of his strongest assets so we should cut him some slack this time.
-
Fucking oxygen thief. Make fun of Luiz all you want, Cahill can only dream of being anywhere near his level.
-
Why does everyone talk about passion when it is clearly evident that these players lack much more quality than passion?
-
Ivanovic a leader, my fucking arse. Shouting and screaming at your teammates doesn't make you a leader. Cahill is a disgrace of a centre-back. Please just fuck off.
-
Why does Ivanovic all of a sudden think he is Pirlo? Literally all Cahill does is hoof it.
-
The footballing side of our game is so sad. The quality is fucking shite.

Who in the squad should stay and who should leave ?

Gone: Ivanovic, Cahill, Mikel, Remy, Oscar, Terry Stay: Matic(Bench only) and everybody else. I'm gonna give Eden one more chance. Surely we don't want to get rid of our very very few world class players? Bring in Pjanic and two more central mids, at least two new CBs, new #10, Musonda as rotation option, possibly a left back(Rodriguez?).
