He is a good defender but imo not what we need at the moment. He's not proactive enough and more in the mold of Cahill except better at defending. We need someone like Koulibaly who can step up and be aggressive and play out from the back. We've lacked that in our back line for ages.

Three years have gone by and to this day he is still carrying our team. I just can't imagine how good he would be if he had players who could actually play Football around him. Thank the heavens. I would have lost all hope for this club if they offloaded the guy who solved our striker crisis. He's world class and the fact he still got 17 goals despite the fact the team struggled to create a goal scoring chance from open play in the first half of the season is impressive itself. Not to mention so many of those goals earned us wins/draws.

Offload the deadwood, bring in quality. Oscar and some of the others are not even good for depth. After all, depth is about quality over quantity. All he's doing right now is blocking the likes of Musonda and Boga from entering the first team. All because he is a 'bigger' name.

"Premier league proven" is such an overrated myth. It shouldn't be considered an advantage for someone who does well in the Prem when they are compared to another player in Europe. Alvaro Morata for example has proved himself at the biggest stage in Europe and done well against a strong English club like City. Who cares if he is 'not premier league proven'? I consider him head and shoulders above Lukaku and it's not even a competition tbh. Same people think Ronaldo is better than Messi because he has proved it in the premier league. As if Messi couldn't score against Sunderland and Bournemouth even though he constantly abuses English teams in Europe. Lukaku would just be another name added to the long list of our players who can't complete a one-touch pas or pass a football under the slightest bit of pressure. Great.

You can kiss top 4 goodbye if we're to stick with the same donkeys in the middle. Kante is the only player who deserves a starting spot in that midfield. Chalobah maybe but we should do much better. In my time watching Chelsea I've seen some bad defenders, Cahill is surely amongst the worst. How can you be that bad?

Pay whatever it takes for Nainggolan or Joao Mario. We can't afford to have donkeys like Oscar and Matic in a midfield two where you need players with high technical ability and defensive strength.

Imagine having De Rossi and then having Matic who can't defend or pass to save his life. The lack of technical ability in this team is astonishing. Can't believe I'm saying this, but I would much much rather have Oscar in a midfield two than Cesc. Cesc can put in a tackle here and there but he lacks athleticism and ability to resist pressure by taking a quick touch away and driving forward which is what we're going to need from our midfielders. He is such a limited midfielder and imo he will never work in a midfield two. Not someone we can rely on when it comes to transitioning between defence and attack.

This is what happens when you centre-backs and one of your two centre mids cant pass or carry the ball to save their lives. Anyways, good defensive performance but Zouma's return and Koulibaly and Kante's arrival needed badly.
