His 0 goals in 15 league games career for Liverpool is proving fruitful.

Leif got a reaction from Amblève. in 🇧🇪 Thibaut Courtois
Hazard showers us in love, 9/10 performances, character, charm.
Courtois has only ever showered us in bitter words.
There's a world of difference. Especially when you consider that despite selfishly wanting Hazard at the club for life, some of us genuinely are intrigued to see the type of player he'd become at one of the top 2 in Spain. There's not much to be excited about as a neutral if Courtois leaves.
When someone's shown you loads of love, it's somewhat easier to swallow if they leave you for their original love eventually if they get the chance. But when someone has never shown you love, consistently uses your money and status, and then on top of that, decides they just don't want to be around anymore, surely it's understandable to act like a bitter, drunk Russian on the verge of murder.
Courtois & us has been like, a young budding actress getting with one of the hottest directors around, & living a Hollywood lifestyle through us by getting far more spotlight than he would have had he not taken advantage of our interest. Now that he's established as a star, because of us, instead of staying with us and performing in our bigger movies to come, he'd rather spread his legs and fly away.Fucking whore.

Genuinely one of the most important signings we ever made. As instrumental to our CL victory as Lampard & Drogba. In every game that campaign he put in a MOTM performance. I miss his braces.

If you look like a non league footballer in those 60 minutes then you don't deserve a "fair" chance.

Ilicic also scored twice in that game. Should we get him too?

We might be the most honest team in the history of football. Whatever the journalists ask our manager and players always tell them what they really think.

Oh. I'll look up the whole 99/100 thing; find how many Serie A seasons there have been, and how many of those seasons were won by the best defence in the league. TalkChelsea members live the most fascinating lives.

I meant if it's factually 99/100 or you were using the expression. I guess it was an expression but it makes it no less intriguing.

Contrary to LAM's reply, yeah. It's always talked about throughout Serie A circles since it consistently happens, that the tightest defence wins the title.
It probably takes effort to look up*, but if anyone did, they'd see that time, and time, and time, and time, and time again, in a row, the Serie A league winners have the fewest goals conceded; it takes an absolute freak of nature to create an exception to the rule. *(Just checked - 14 seasons out of the last 15, the rule I posted applies.)
Although it's a lazy name, Serie A hasn't been branded 'the defensive league' for decades for no reason.

Shocking innit. During that time Torres had managed a whopping 1 goal, Morata has scored 12 (a goal every 2 games). Torres could only dream about such numbers. It doesn't surprise me though, people tend to romanticize the past.

Well according to Metro his teammates think he's a whinger. That might just be an outsider looking in guess but I would say a pretty accurate one. He's complained about English refs, opposition players and his own fitness. I remember when Robben made his debut against Bolton I thought along with everyone else fuck we've got a player here. Going even further back I saw Pat Nevin's debut at Craven Cottage and thought the exact same.
Has everyone forgotten Morata's debut in the Charity Shield ? he was totally unconvincing and has been pretty woeful not Torres standard but come on can anyone say that was 58 million quid well spent ?. The Norwich game was off the scale embarrassing for a so called professional footballer to act like that I think he's been booked in every game he's played in recently he's got to man up or fuck off. The Arsenal game if we'd won that I'm sure we wouldn't be in the position we are now he was again absolutely unconvincing and lightweight.
By the way anyone who thinks the fans should give their undying support for players and it's disloyal to slag them off well when I see a multi millionaire act like a petulant schoolboy I have absolutely no problem calling them out for it.

A lot of strikers have come over to the Premier League and taken time to bed in. Top strikers at that too.
With the market the way it is, I cannot see the club splashing out serious money on a new striker unless (1) they can get top dollar back for Morata (or possibly Batshuayi) or (2) they sell Hazard and re-invest most of these funds in a striker.
I think he has to be given time to adapt fully to the league. Earlier in the season, he showed that there is obvious talent there. The biggest adjustment which he is failing to get to grips with at the moment is holding the ball up and the physical nature of the league. He goes down way too easily at the moment, and that's ok in the right circumstances (think Drogba) but he also needs to be strong and hold up the ball in other circumstances.
I agree with others though, if he fails to adapt to this way of the league next season we could very well be struggling again.

Imagine after Stoke away that, come Feb, Chelsea fans would want Olivier 'Arsenal French Lampost' Giroud first name on the team sheet. Football is mental sometimes.

Leif reacted to Jase in 🇩🇰 Andreas Christensen
Conte may not be the best in managing young players out there but it's reassuring and nice to see he has confidence in Christensen, even after the mistake against Barcelona.
If Mourinho was still our manager and Christensen made that mistake, we would probably never see him in the team again!
