I agree to some extent. Some people change huge in couple months, some are same for ages. Personal perspective on life can change big time, especialy between 16-20 (experienced myself haha), but a "happy" positive person can not change into "sad" negative or vice versa (speaking spontaneously, not due to family death or sth). Maybe some but not everyone. Some people are serious, some are making people smile, some need new challenges etc. You can change to some extent, but not completely. And Mou would have to become whole new person to stay here long time, work with youth and still succeed (and he has little clue there), change tactics bit more offensive etc. I dont believe Jose changed THAT much. Something will come between him and club or he will simply want new challenge. Since you mentioning, everyone who knows Mou and belives his quotes about staying here for long time and all that is either a liar or fool aswell. From tactical sense to (no) Youth integration, Jose is still the same man he was in past. Sorry to pop your bubble but there are few things chelsea fan realise eventualy. Jose staying here is like Torres getting back to his best. You hope and hope but it wont happen. Maybe Jose wants to do saf, settle family, but if there wont be results or game he wants, Roman will do his part sooner or later.

Whatever happens in future... Fairytales are for dreams. He wont stay here for long time, Jose never changes.

He bulked up alot since his atleti days. I even remember him saying he goes to fitness to get fit for "tough" ligue 1. And you can see he got bigger now. Not necessary to be stronger tho. But that sucks big time for footballers, even more for attackers. Players need to be in good shape physicaly and extensive fitness itself is never great for body. Fitness is something every football player has to do, but in Falcao case he went too far. He is still a football player, not a fitness persona. I can tell from personal experience, I was skinny as quick as fuck, but since I have been to gym for past three years, I am now twice the size and considerably slower and less agile. Despite still doing the cardio. You get strenght and good look, but also fitness makes you slower and you get tired quicker. Not to mention your blood pressure can get sky high if you dont do it right and get too much weight (mass or muscle) in short time. Falcao got bulked up, he aint Scharzenegger but its still a big change to his body. He never was fast, but still alot quicker, mobile and agile than now. Confidence is also lower, but main problem is his body. If you have good body shape naturaly like Drogba its no problem but if you make big change to your body in such short time, like Falcao it aint good. Your body abities completely change.

Pretty much this. Some of other team defenders have more confidence and skill when controling the ball than some of our strikers. I wont even go at our defenders who have zero confidence and skill to drive the ball forward (Terry with some exception but he is slow nowdays and Iva who likes to go forward but loses the ball way too many times). That said I havent been convinced with Zouma when he has ball, he seems quite raw there, but he will improve surely. And I dont think someone like Stones would fix that either. He is good with ball but very young and playing for chelsea or everton is whole new world of pressure and harder games. If we target a CB and have 30m to spend, we should look for established one IMO.

Decent fullback. For 10m I would consider him. He is no Ash but he isnt as bad as people say.

Im sure whole forum knows my opinion about Cesc but I will go step further. He is quality player and certainly one of most deserving for Pl title. BUT as long he is in first 11, we wont win CL. Leaders step up in key games. He doesnt. He is nowhere when we play big teams. He is basicaly what arsenal team was. Plenty to show but he is not the one to do it when teams needs him most. And with such player with such big role, you cant win CL. Very little chance we succeed if we go 4:3:3 and bring another top CM to play next to Cesc and Matic. Maybe then those two will be enough to cover for Cesc. And finaly I dont get why people want him as our captain. He shows nothing that would make him a captain of the team. He is all loud and cocky but when shit gets real his cock gets in the size of peanut and he acts like a pussy. I dont want such captain. Unpopular opinion I know but the excuses need to stop. Big game player term suddenly doesnt matter? Players are rated by big games performances. No one can deliver in every big game but top players deliver in most. Problem with Cesc is that he delivers in one big game out of 10. We won title last year and Cesc rocked against shit sides did average against big. And that was enough because rest were poor. But when manchesters and arsenal grow, derbies and big, key games will decide title. And if Cesc wont perform there, we wont win anything. Wont even go into CL options. Funny how people want to make all kind of excuses about Cesc but thing is he was bad in 90 percent of crucial games, his form dropped after half season. Yet he has great stats, good looks and people worship him. But stats arent everything. Truth is when your key midfield playmaker gets dominated in against almost every better midfield and his performance ability drops to 1/4th of what he is capable in those games, no stat can show it. Modric or Verratti are the players you want in midfield in a CL game against psg, bayern, real etc not Cesc. When he makes a great run of performances in CL, drags and pushes us forward, gives others inspiration basicaly what he should be doing; even if we dont win CL in the end. Only then I will say how wrong I was. But until then, no excuse will save him. Like I said he still did big part for Pl title and Im grateful for that, but when Pl Gets stronger, we will see true ability of Cesc. In big games he he is liability much as Oscar or whoever else. Yet people like him just like they liked Mata. And both are nice persons but neither was the midfielder for big games. However people are blind to admit that. For the sake of Chelsea I hope he proves me wrong.

All that underestimating of Cech and Arsenal is getting on your backs. Whoever thinks Cech move wont do no harm and arsenal is shit is fooling themselves. If they get proper striker, they will have quite good team.
-
In football sense. I saw both and to me Gimenez is better. Quite alot better. Already established in top club, and puts a great performances there. Same in uruguay nt. He is more complete and reliable, has a warrior mentality and goes on every ball. Not as good as Stones with the ball at his feet, but better in everything else tbh. Tackling, positioning, heading, mentality (quite agressive for a Cb, but not too much, which I like). Thats just my opinion from what I saw. I wouldnt pay 30m for either, but if I had to it would be Gimenez for all football reasons and Stones for his nationality.
-
I only found his clause from summer 2014 which was 20m. But I think he signed new contract since.
-
Thats quite impossible. Javi Martinez cost 40m euros and he was better at that time. Benatia cost Bayern less than 25m pounds. Vidal cost bayern less than 30m pounds. Costa was less than 40m for us and he was Atletico best player that year. I dont think they would get 40m plus for Gimenez. Even if asking price was higher, he would eventualy be sold for less. And even that said, Gimenez is twice the player Stones is right now anyway. But like I said Gimenez or other top CB. You dont need to spend that much for top cb, Benatia proves that. Neither you need to spend that much for young cb. Zouma, Varane prove that. Finaly, look at this. Benatia cost 23m, Vidal cost 28m, Zouma cost 12m, etc. Yet you would spend 30m on Stones? Ok mate. Stones for 30m is ridiculous. He wont improve us. He wont be starter in big games. He isnt experienced. First season he become regular at everton and they finished in bottom part of Epl. He has no CL experience. And we already have Zouma. Yeah 30m for 20 yrs old english Cb makes perfect sense.
-
Lmao explain yourself.
-
For that money we could bid for Gimenez or someone who is actualy top CB already.
-
He is so bad with ball at his feet...
-
30m+ for Stones is a joke. I seriously cant believe people here are happy with it but are laughing at Sterling for 49m. We have Zouma to fill Stones role. Why the hell we need to spend 30m on Stones is beyond me. We need to improve our attack and midfield too, instead we will splash 50m pounds on Stones and Baba who wont even play. Great.
-
No excuses Jose. All the talk about better team lost, they played defensive blah blah... I guess he forgot 90% of big game wins we parked the bus and played worse than our opponent. What he should do instead of talking shit about Wenger, Rafa, spending etc, is why the fuck we didnt improve one thing from last season. Why didnt we buy a top box to box like Vidal if he intends to play Ramires in big games, why didnt we fix the quantity and quality of our bench, but instead we are even thinner now. Why the hell did he bring Falcao instead of striker who will at least do his job. Finaly despite putting shitload of practice on defending, we still look like shit in defense against any better attackers. I like Mou but he is such a dick when he loses. So unprofessional, cuntish and childlish behavour. Few things we had to fix this summer: Improve our starting 11 by bringing top player. No solution. Improve and expand our bench. No fix. Tactical and mental approach in big games to play with more control. No improvement. When we take lead, we cant keep it. That wasnt fixed either. Its pre season, so I couldnt care less about the results. But the way we play shows glimpses of how team will play. And we played bad for majority. I dont expect we will be this bad, but I dont expect we will suddenly improve greatly as soon as ''real'' games start. Another point out is that we have striker who is injured waay too much. We have playmaker and key midfielder in Fabregas who is absolute garbage in majority of crucial games. Jose needs to make some changes and make them quick. The funniest and saddest part is that our response on all that is buying two kid defenders in Baba and Stones for fucking 50m pounds and everyone seems happy about it. Sterling for 49m was less of a joke. I see we need to fix our defense but not by bringing two kids with no experience for 50m and do nothing about our midfield and wings. FFS.
-
On paper yes but Iva is still most influental and efficient fullback we have, that reflects in big games very clearly
-
Same aplies to Cesc then. Except he already plays in two man midfield and we get dominated every game against good opponent.Veratti is top talent and already top player. Better than Pogba right now and majority of CMs.

Defending of Mourinho is strong on here too. Literaly for everything he does or says, people come with excuse like he didnt realy mean it, just mind games etc. Yes I like Mourinho alot, but there is a clear line and some things I dont like. He might not mean what he said or whatever you imply, but he still said it in public. Every non-Chelsea fan is laughing at him for such comments time and time again. While some comments he makes are brilliant, funny, clever, or give us psichologycal edge, this one isnt like that at all. It just makes Mou look like grumpy man who is looking for excuse if he fails to win the league. And if we dont win the league, it will be because of Mou, his work in transfer window and his work with the team. Not because United or City are spending cash. In the end Chelsea has cash too, but it was US who decided to be more reasonable. Respect that, but dont give shit on others if they decide to do differently. FFP is now seriously a joke and Unired, City or whoever else is not breaching it anymore. I love Mou sarcastic comments and little mocks, but I hate his excuses about refs, buying, etc. etc. Biggest teams are in same boat here.
-
They sold Negredo, Jovetic, etc etc... We are in same boat. Neither should make such naive comments. We won last years league because we bought new players.
-
Yeah but he is implying we are the ''good fair guys'' while everyone else in PL is 'buying' success. We have spent shitload of cash under Mou, he is the last to point out how much money opponents spend on players. We should focus on improving our team. Once we do that it wont matter what others have or do.
-
This is part I dont like about Mou. Sometimes he just tries to spread some bullshit but everyone laughs at him instead. We or Mou are no different than other teams when comes to "buying" the league. Last year we bough Costa and Cesc for that reason FFS. Its not like Mou is building youth team for decade while others are buying. The only truth is that its not just Chelsea who spends (spent) like crazy but all teams do that. In the end he should focus on our team instead of talking about others and their spendings. This kind of comments make him look like he is already making excuses if he doesnt win title.
-
On another hand Falcao scored in EL final for Porto, EL final for Atletico and supercup final against us. He scored pretty much in every final he played, back then he was one of big game winners. But his form dropped massively since, no doubt that Costa is better now.
-
Fabregas is such a liability. FFS.
-
How would you know what I know what Mou knows?
-
I dont care how we play in preseason, but based on last season games, we got dominated in midfield and nothing is different today, year later. Vidal would be so perfect to our midfield. Anyway, Falcao to the rescue, at least thats Mou's plan.
