I reckon bringing in another DM is the best option for Chelsea and Mikel. That way, we'll have another option for the midfield (it'll keep the players fresh) and the new DM will be able to challenge Mikel for his first team place.

Yes, someone has to do the dirty work in midfield..but the issue with Mikel has ALWAYS been consistency. He puts in a good performance against United...then goes missing against mid-table clubs... Busquets isn't a matchwinner for Barcelona but he's a consistent player.

We need stability for the next 3-4 years. If we don't get stability, players like Hazard, Mata, Lukaku won't stick around...like unless the manager is clueless... As a player, you'd prefer to have the same person in charge for a couple of seasons as it helps you create a stronger team chemistry and a better relationship with the manager.

I just don't see us winning the game. United will play like crap for 89 minutes and win by one goal...just like they usually do in the EPL

What we need: A young CM/DM like Strootman or more-experienced player like Modric/Moutinho A talented CB who can come in and play straight away (not Marquinhos or Zouma) A striker, someone that can play as a CF and on the wings when neccessary (like Anelka).

just saw Sunderland's remaining fixtures...they are doomed. So it's pretty much Sunderland, QPR and Reading going back to the Championship...unless Wigan or Villa stuff up big-time.

I remember Martinez saying that Moses left the club a season too early in terms of development.. Hopefully our new manager can help improve Moses' overall game from next season onwards.

I just hope Van Aanholt gets to play a handful of games at LB like Bertrand...that'll help the coaching staff decide which player to keep in the long run. PvA seems to be more explosive going forward, still learning the defensive side..(based on his games at Vitesse) Bertrand does alright defensively, needs alot of work on his offensive game.

Mikel was terrible against Southampton. He's a decent defensive player, pathetic offensive player...overall he's average. I think people are overrating Mikel due to his good performance against United. If we had another quality defensive midfielder in the team, Mikel would be on the bench...he's just lucky Chelsea haven't brought in a defensive midfielder since Essien's peak..which was a few years ago.

Completely agree with the original post. Our second string team isn't good enough...and that could be the reason why we finish outside the top 4. Marin just isn't the right player for Chelsea,Benayoun is useless..(the fact that he celebrated Arsenal's 5-3 win at the Bridge last season says alot about how much he cares for Chelsea)Bertrand just doesn't look good enoughWe need a younger CB in the team, Terry is starting to show his age, Ivanovic has been horrible & Cahill is decent.

Shaw looked miles better than Bertrand. He's definitely a special talent Bertrand looked clueless at LB. I'm not sure if he's good enough to be our starting LB when Cole leaves..

I don't get why people keep using Inter Milan as an example for Jose. Jose gave large contracts to older key players that performed well under him...but at the end of the day, the board should make the final decision about long term contracts for any given player.. Therefore, I think Inter's board has to take some of the blame regarding those contracts...I mean, if they were intent on building for the future, they could have disagreed with the contracts and not approve them.

Who would you reckon is best suited for the Chelsea job?

I think the only other options for Chelsea would be Hiddink or Capello..IF Mourinho doesn't come. There are other managers like Martinez, Laudrup..but I don't think they would get enough time to do well at Chelsea...

Juninho was a good free kick taker but overall, Roberto Carlos' freekick against France tops all of Juninho's freekicks.

Wouldn't mind having Ba, Lukaku and Higuain as our three strikers next season...provided that we add to our midfield and defence.

If we didn't sign Ba..then having Lukaku and Bony as strikers would of been awesome.
