60 goals. 46 of which influenced the result. I'll not have cheapening of the great man's achievements round here!
-
Yeah, here's a list of goals that weren't the opener, equaliser or winner; or in general barely influenced the result: 2nd goal in a 2-0 win vs Blackburn in October 2006 3rd goal in a 3-0 win vs Blackburn in January 2007 2nd goal in a 2-0 win vs Portsmouth, 3/07 3rd goal in a 4-1 win vs West Ham, 4/07 2nd goal in a 3-0 win vs Sheffield United, 3/07 2nd and 4th goals in a 4-0 win vs Hull, 9/07 5th goal in a 6-0 win vs Man City, 10/07 3rd goal in a 3-1 win vs Huddersfield, 2/08 3rd goal in a 3-0 win vs Olympiacos, 3/08 2nd goal in a 2-0 win vs Man City, 4/08 4th goal in a 4-0 win vs Portsmouth, 9/08 4th goal in a 4-1 win vs Cardiff, 2/10 6th goal in a 7-1 win vs Aston Villa, 3/10 3rd goal in an 8-0 win vs Wigan, 5/10 4th and 5th goals in a 6-0 win vs Wigan, 8/10 5th goal in a 5-0 win vs Genk, 10/11 2nd goal in a 3-0 win vs Newcastle, 12/11 That works out at 17/60, or roughly 28%, and I'm being generous by including the 2nd goal in 2-0 wins, take them out and its only 14/60 that were truly useless. Also there's a problem with this data, what if some of the times we were 1-0 or 2-0 up and we were getting dominated and Kalou scored a goal that knocked the stuffing out of the opposition charge? And in a sense, none of those league goals from that list were truly useless in that they still at least boosted our goal difference. Also, he has 40 assists to his name but I wasn't able to find a list of those to determine which were useful and which weren't. To answer your specific question, though, 12 out of 60 or 20%. Interestingly, all of his goals in 2009 (about 10, I think) were 'useful' in that the result might have been different had he not scored.

To be honest I think we've ruined him. He could have been a starter already.

One hour of study to cover a 13 week course and 4 hours of sleep, and I still churned out 5 pages or something like 1700 words in an hour long exam for history. What a boss I am Though I'm a bit worried that I didn't use any historiography to support my arguments. And my writing was a bit messy.
-
I'd still have Sir Alex Ferguson and Jose ahead of him.
-
I hear nothing.
-
Come on, I'm not that biased, you know! I recognise he has limitations.

ChelseaMeltdown seems fairly sensible actually. Claims like Chelsea Meltdown @ChelseaMeltdown I can't think of a better English midfielder than Lampard.
Collapse Reply Retweet Favorite Aren't that unreasonable. Who is better and English? Chelsea Meltdown @ChelseaMeltdown Real clubs wave flags. Barca and Madrid do it. Holding scarves is the past. Flags look classy. This seems perfectly fine. Chelsea Meltdown @ChelseaMeltdown Rafa Benitez is such an average manager. The media should know better than to link him with Chelsea Football Club. He's dreaming. And that. Chelsea Meltdown @ChelseaMeltdown Liverpool are our feeder club, i wouldn't mind taking Suarez, Lucas and Reina as back up. They wouldn't get in our starting XI though.
Collapse Reply Retweet Favorite Again, perfectly reasonable.

??? Henry and Messi started on the flanks in Rome. Eto'o was the striker.
-
No need to worry, I'm here Not a chance. He'll be hated by the fans for succeeding Kenny and he'll be Hodgson'd out of the job.
-
What?
-
May it never be forgotten that Di Matteo won the Champions League with Bertrand and Kalou on the flanks. Guardiola by comparison had Henry and Messi in 2009, David Villa and Pedro in 2011.

UEFA have banned Besiktas from European competition for breaching FFP rules: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/european/9300032/Besiktas-suspended-from-European-competition-for-one-year-by-Uefa.html What in fucks name is wrong with these clowns. They're stopping a club, already in debt with no sugar daddy to prop them up; from taking part in a competition that will at least ease their debt pressures. They've also hit them with a fine. That'll be the end of Besiktas JK, I think. A few more years of being banned from Europe and one of Turkey's great clubs will be in the doldrums and may never recover. They could also go bankrupt and cease to exist.

Doesn't stop him being a Spud.

Did some more digging around and found this graph: Our average maximum temperature this year has been on par with the average minimum temperature since 1962. Are we headed for a new ice age?
-
You guys can't complain about weather. It's winter now and according to long term climate data, this year has been the coolest since 1962, that is unlikely to change unless we have an exceptionally hot October-December period.
-
West Sydney, I'll have you know, where temperatures in the summer are anywhere between 3 and 7 degrees above what's reported as Sydney's weather on the news; and in winter, anywhere between 3 and 5 below Sydney's reported weather. We haven't had proper summers in about 3-4 years, mind, far too wet. The only hot spell of weather since about 2008 was last February when West Sydney had a run of about 7 days of 40+ temperatures and the next 7 of 35+. That was a nightmare. Must be fun to live in dessert, by the way Here's the average temperatures over a 40 year period for an area about 3-4km from where I live (excluding that massive drought NSW had between 2002-05): http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/averages/tables/cw_067117.shtml

Gervinho is (was) good back in France, but anyway, Arsenal can fuck off. We're bigger now than you'll ever be.
-
Here's a stat. 33% of Kalou's league goals have come in the last 15 minutes of the match.
-
Agreed, people are letting 3 games cloud their opinions of Di Matteo and that's unfair.
-
You read the Kalou thread, right?
-
Chelsea chick is not here to mourn this revelation. I, therefore, am the undisputed number 1 Kalou fan. Have it, CC
