  1. My bad, I left Mata on. So effectively, it was a 6-3-0 Oh shit, we've all gone off topic Umm, yeah, basically, as I said earlier, we're but an (admittedly enormous) mosquito biting an elephant from their point of view. Take a look at barcaforum.com and see what their opinions of us are.
  2. So he's much more of a Salomon Kalou type person than a Cristiano Ronaldo style egotist. Good to know, that goes against a lot of my preconceived notions of him and has certainly made me anticipate his signing a bit more.
  3. I don't think Blackman has a future here, tbh. Cech and Courtois will keep him as a backup his entire career.
  4. I still like him a lot and wish him the best but he was a bit of an ideological twit. Stick him in politics or war and he'll be out before you can say "Leon Trotsky".
  5. I think it was a 6-3-1, I saw it as more like this:
  6. My mistake, but 2 games in nearly 2 months still has him going down the Lukaku route for me, Villas-Boas didn't want him around.
  7. I am confident Cahill was signed by Emenalo. Villas-Boas almost never played him, from memory, it took him 6 weeks from when he signed to make his debut and his only game under Villas-Boas was the Napoli away game.
  8. The PA announcer was hilarious: "TOR FÜR BAYERN MÜNCHEN.... THOMASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS MÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!". Nek Minnit: "Um, ja, goal for ze Chelsea, nummer elf, Didier Drogba." On an unrelated subject, that's a nice new avatar you've chosen! Too bad it isn't visible in your posts yet.
  9. He was responsible for more than De Bruyne; he has signed Cahill, Lukaku, Marin, and soon-to-be Hazard and Hulk on his own volition. Neither of the two managers we've had this season have sanctioned or asked for any of those transfers. I reckon even Mata and Romeu were signed by him, Villas-Boas would have asked for an attacking midfielder/winger and a defensive midfielder and Emenalo responded with the Spanish duo. That's how a Director of Football is supposed to work anyway, the manager lets them know what position they want strengthened and perhaps makes a recommendation but the final decision is down to the DoF.
  10. Who cares? Fuck them, they're nobodies to most young football fans. Going trophy less for a minimum of nearly 8 years (they can't win anything until February 2013) tends to do that to a clubs image. Them hating on us, given the relative statures of the two clubs (i.e. European champions and being a dominant force in English football for nearly a decade vs 8 trophy less seasons and consistently losing their best players), is no different to Fulham or QPR fans hating on us, it's comparable to a mosquito biting an elephant.
  11. No, we're just a small time club to them. For a rivalry to exist, there must be mutual acknowledgement that each club is of a similar stature and consistently compete for the same trophies; from their point of view, only the latter is true. If you present this idea to Barcelona fans they'll laugh at you. Though at least their players etc. have better sense to realise that the pair of us have been rivals in Europe as we've met so often.
  12. Emenalo, he's the director of football, it's his job to liaise between Roman and the manager and make signings. 100% agree.
  13. If all else fails, Ramires can play there for a game or two. Still, it would be nice to ship out Paulo, much as I love him, and bring in a new right back.
  14. As Spike said, I don't know enough to commit. Also, as a Catholic, it makes it difficult for me to sign anything in support of a club that mocks those tragic paedophilia incidents.
  15. Can we talk about other clubs transfers in here? Ledley King has been released by Tottenham.
  16. Response to Campbell: The guy who gave that speech: Michael Antonio Ansley (born February 8, 1967 in Birmingham, Alabama) is an American professional basketball player withSportino Inowrocław of the Polish Dominet Bank Ekstraliga.
  17. I don't want to turn this into a racial debate, but I am extremely proud of my heritage and I'll not tolerate any slurs against that. Now fuck off.
  18. Oh, I didn't finish my predictions: FA Cup: Chelsea COC Cup: Newcastle Europa League: Napoli Champions League: I don't know, hopefully not Arsenal!
  19. What about creating aliases, as SHM seems to have done?
  20. Well, there it goes I've always heard it go: He comes from the Ivory Coast, Kalou, Kalou He doesn't do coke like Mutu, like Mutu He crossed the ball from the left It landed right on top of Riise's head And that's why we love Salomon Kalou
  21. I've said the same about Kalou, but since the lad doesn't have a 50 million price tag to his name, I'm always shot down with "Work rate doesn't cover up the fact that he's an awful footballer". The same, in that case, goes for Torres. Hulk as the striker and Ramires as the right winger is a more preferred set up for me than Torres up front.
  22. 1. Man City 2. Chelsea 3. United 4. Arsenal 5. Tottenham 6. Everton Relegated: Liverpool, Reading and QPR.
