  1. Yeah even Drogba was not as good as Torres. All Drogba had was leadership, and nothing else. They both are bad and is because of what you stated. Still don't understand why the club nor AVB managed to fix this with 2 transfer windows this season...ridicules from both!
  2. Yup pretty much. As being stated before, AVB has been naive and arrogant, and that most likely will cost him. I wish he gets another season, but i felt the same with Carlo and he still got sack...
  3. I think one of those against AVB project was Lampard! You could see Lampard gesture when AVB was telling him something before he was going to come on the pitch.
  4. From the face that AVB has it looks like hes a dead man walking. And he only has himself to blame for being an idiot and not buying creative players and wingers. Thinking he was that good, that he could wing it with the same squad that Carlo got sacked for... But the real blame as I always stated is the board and Roman. How do you waste so much money on managers when you see you got a lethargic squad? Can't get no real crosses and passes to your forward so instead you spend 50 mill on a striker so it can be made easier to flop.....
  5. Villas-Boas - No Cahill rift http://www1.skysport.../11095/7528498/ So that's why he started with Bosingwa as RB and Ivan as CB. Sorry AVB for jumping on you saying you where crazy for benching Cahill. And pleased to see that he also noticed Cahill was great against United. Hopefully in the coming important games there is no Bosingwa. With Birmingham i could care less, but against Napoli def Bosingwa must not start unless he plays in A. Cole position.
  6. Great points, perhaps the most that stood out was: MOURINHO FEELS THREATENED SO HE'S CLEARLY TALENTED Mourinho was opposed to Villas-Boas' ambition to be a manager, when he left Jose's back room staff to embark on his own managerial career, in 2009. In fact, they've fallen out over it. The 34-year-old's incredible success at Porto and subsequent hring by Chelsea confirmed why Mourinho was worried. I really don't think it's like that, but interesting point to dwell in.
  7. AVB finally showing some authority. I thought these words where very interesting of what is going on behind the scenes: "Players compete, in the end, for their place and for their place towards the future in the team. So if you want to be in the team in the future, you are competing to win something against your colleague. I would put it exactly like that: performance to have reward ... reward in terms of results and reward in terms of future continuity. "My authority is total because it's the owner's authority. I have told you that we set out this team to try to win four trophies, believing in this team. Next year it's another one because there are different ongoing situations regarding contracts which will have to be addressed so that means different changes. Two players have already departed and further will depart in the future and won't make part of the project, which more or less they expect but this is the reality of any football team. We prepare to be more competent in the present and we have to prepare the future as well. "They know there is a manager in position holding on for a project of three years so, if they want to be part of that project, [it is about] performance level, or continuity of performance level and display. I think that's pretty basic of any football team. You don't contemplate with a reward people who underperform in any football team." "I am completely happy [with Abramovich] ... I have no problem with him at all," Villas-Boas said. "It is a relationship that is perfect at the moment. We have discussed how we can correct what's going wrong. I don't feel I am under pressure for my job, although I know I am under pressure for results." -AVB
  8. Guus Hiddink has agreed a deal to take charge of Anzhi Makhachkala, according to Voetbal International, ending the prospect of him replacing Andre Villas-Boas at Chelsea in the near future. The Dutch boss has been repeatedly linked with Chelsea ever since guiding them to FA Cup glory during a short spell at the club in 2009. With the Blues struggling at present, the pressure has piled on Villas-Boas and led to talk of a return for Hiddink. Hiddink's agent was non-committal when asked about the subject at the start of the week, but it would now appear to be off the agenda following the news he has seemingly committed to Anzhi. The 65-year-old, who has been out of the game since failing to guide Turkey to Euro 2012, has reportedly put his name to an 18-month deal. The Dutchman has knowledge of the game in Russia, having led the national side between 2006 and 2010. http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sport/story/136639.html?CMP=OTC-RSS
  9. Looking forward to see how Ramires and Essien will cope. Cause if they can boss the mid really good, that should be our ticket to semis!
  10. Pinto: Villas-Boas has been a little arrogant at Chelsea http://www.talksport...rrogant-chelsea I thought it was a good listen. AVB is a new young manager, and has made some mistake. But he still has great potential, and if AVB can correct some of that by next season (if he still is here) then it will be a great step up.
  11. I wonder if he got mis quoted. Cause I remember he said it's normal when they ask about Mourinho texting his players, as he do the same with the players from Academica and Porto. I don't know if he said this is normal twice.....
  12. Yup it looks like the same stuff different manager. I pointed how the new manager effect shows its base down to the player. AVB looked world class the first month or so, his tactics where brilliant. Then the players regress to their perpetual state of laziness. And now the players are not happy with the manager so they play like shit in the field.... Roman if he is smart he will learn what has to be done. Support the AVB project and fired those that always try to demise the coach and play whenever they feel like!
  13. So true. And no manager since he left has gotten that open wallet like he got. Instead the club tries to implement youth as stated by Carlo, but they will never do it with their philosophy. If you are pressure to always be challening for tittle then it will be hard to play youth. Not to mention we have no idea what the owner thinks. It would be awesome if Roman comes out pubilcly and say "I back this manager no matter what. I want to change the team, and play more youth. So I realise our standards must decrease". That will take pressure of the managers, and the players on the field will see the true commitment and authority from Roman to the coach!
  14. Villas-Boas: Forget the players, all I need is backing from the boss (that's trigger-happy Abramovich...) Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2102041/Andre-Villas-Boas-All-I-need-backing-Roman-Abramovich.html#ixzz1mYcP0CJr I do have to mention something. That AVB comments reminds me a lot of Madrid fans. Beginning of the season: "We got a great squad and can win 3 trophies" By December: "We stil got a great chance to win 2 trophies" By March: "We still got a chance of winning la liga" By June: "We are the club with the most history, who cares about not winning anything!"
  15. I still think he should be giving till next year like SAF did with Berba. Can't discard a 50 mill like that just after one bad season. But I still say get a player like Cavani or Higuian just in case....
  16. He might not answer so he don't up looking like a fool, like all those that wanted AVB and now want him out......
  17. I don't think you should believe that. Cause the telegraph seems like so pro Hiddink. I remember in the summer when they had it as done deal that Hiddink would take over. And so much story about Hiddink, to turn out to be a big farse. And how do you know the club won't accept below 4th? Are you the owner? The board? So please stop saying stuff like that, because you don't know.
  18. Interesting take. I remember Mourinho said he would return when Roman did not ran the club no more. By then we can see if Mourinho really is the greatest ever manager by building a descent team with little money!
  19. I just want to comment on this. I think you are wrong, because you are not counting the "new manager effect" It happens all the time. What is happening now at Sunderland, happen when every manager from Chelsea in the Roman era is fired and a new one is brought. It takes a couple of months for everything to settle down when the players start regressing and playing like shit. And last the point can be easily said about Mourinho, Pep and such. They all inherited or had a lot of money to build a good squad.
  20. What do you expect when you "buy the ttitle"? Most of these players are mercenary. People like Del Piero are in the mold of Terry, Zola. In todays generation it would be Lukaku. Lukaku might not be as skill as Sturridge, but I am sure he will give it his best like Terry does cause they love the club a lot. Big fans.
