  1. Looking forward to see how Ramires and Essien will cope. Cause if they can boss the mid really good, that should be our ticket to semis!
  2. Pinto: Villas-Boas has been a little arrogant at Chelsea http://www.talksport...rrogant-chelsea I thought it was a good listen. AVB is a new young manager, and has made some mistake. But he still has great potential, and if AVB can correct some of that by next season (if he still is here) then it will be a great step up.
  3. I wonder if he got mis quoted. Cause I remember he said it's normal when they ask about Mourinho texting his players, as he do the same with the players from Academica and Porto. I don't know if he said this is normal twice.....
  4. Yup it looks like the same stuff different manager. I pointed how the new manager effect shows its base down to the player. AVB looked world class the first month or so, his tactics where brilliant. Then the players regress to their perpetual state of laziness. And now the players are not happy with the manager so they play like shit in the field.... Roman if he is smart he will learn what has to be done. Support the AVB project and fired those that always try to demise the coach and play whenever they feel like!
  5. So true. And no manager since he left has gotten that open wallet like he got. Instead the club tries to implement youth as stated by Carlo, but they will never do it with their philosophy. If you are pressure to always be challening for tittle then it will be hard to play youth. Not to mention we have no idea what the owner thinks. It would be awesome if Roman comes out pubilcly and say "I back this manager no matter what. I want to change the team, and play more youth. So I realise our standards must decrease". That will take pressure of the managers, and the players on the field will see the true commitment and authority from Roman to the coach!
  6. Villas-Boas: Forget the players, all I need is backing from the boss (that's trigger-happy Abramovich...) Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2102041/Andre-Villas-Boas-All-I-need-backing-Roman-Abramovich.html#ixzz1mYcP0CJr I do have to mention something. That AVB comments reminds me a lot of Madrid fans. Beginning of the season: "We got a great squad and can win 3 trophies" By December: "We stil got a great chance to win 2 trophies" By March: "We still got a chance of winning la liga" By June: "We are the club with the most history, who cares about not winning anything!"
  7. I still think he should be giving till next year like SAF did with Berba. Can't discard a 50 mill like that just after one bad season. But I still say get a player like Cavani or Higuian just in case....
  8. He might not answer so he don't up looking like a fool, like all those that wanted AVB and now want him out......
  9. I don't think you should believe that. Cause the telegraph seems like so pro Hiddink. I remember in the summer when they had it as done deal that Hiddink would take over. And so much story about Hiddink, to turn out to be a big farse. And how do you know the club won't accept below 4th? Are you the owner? The board? So please stop saying stuff like that, because you don't know.
  10. Interesting take. I remember Mourinho said he would return when Roman did not ran the club no more. By then we can see if Mourinho really is the greatest ever manager by building a descent team with little money!
  11. I just want to comment on this. I think you are wrong, because you are not counting the "new manager effect" It happens all the time. What is happening now at Sunderland, happen when every manager from Chelsea in the Roman era is fired and a new one is brought. It takes a couple of months for everything to settle down when the players start regressing and playing like shit. And last the point can be easily said about Mourinho, Pep and such. They all inherited or had a lot of money to build a good squad.
  12. What do you expect when you "buy the ttitle"? Most of these players are mercenary. People like Del Piero are in the mold of Terry, Zola. In todays generation it would be Lukaku. Lukaku might not be as skill as Sturridge, but I am sure he will give it his best like Terry does cause they love the club a lot. Big fans.
  13. Yes he was complaing how Roman got Sheva, how the board choose Alex over other defender he wanted and other stuff. The club has not learned!
  14. And that's why I repeat, that Mourinho left for that reason. So why would he want to come back or any great manager when the current manager you got can't get that?
  15. I think a lot of fans are short term minded. They only think about now and the next year maybe two or three. A mid to long term plan has a time span of 5 to 7 years range.
  16. I think he has in mind of keeping those older players. The Drogba, Lampard, Cole, Malouda and such. Remember the suppose text where Jose said they will be together???
  17. You have a point but the Romeu situation with Essien was that Essien was far superior to Romeu in his first full game against United. With the Bosingwa there is no defending. I wanted to bitch slap AVB for that before the game started.
  18. I do get a bit piss of by what Sloth says, that AVB did not buy players, not enough. But before I go saying it's AVB fault, would I like to know is it AVB fault or someone else? Since it is been well documented that the coach has little say on transfer unlike the board. So who's fault is it? AVB or the board?
  19. Porto chairman: AVB's move to Chelsea was a mistake Porto chairman Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa says Andre Villas-Boas’ move to Chelsea was a ‘mistake’ and believes he could face the axe at Stamford Bridge this season. Villas-Boas has endured a turbulent time in west London since leaving Porto last summer - Chelsea currently sit in fifth place outside the Champions League spots - and his former employer is not sure the young Portuguese made the right decision. Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Pinto da Costa said: "Villas-Boas went because of the huge offer Chelsea made (€15 million). "He left thinking that Chelsea was a unique opportunity, but I believe that was a mistake because there would have been others." Pinto da Costa also feels that the presence of the old guard at Stamford Bridge could hamper Villas-Boas’ moves to take the club forward. "He needs time to mould his own team and he can't do that as long as there are players, as I've heard, who exchange text messages with Mourinho, and (Roman) Abramovich knows this," he added. However, Pinta da Costa added that Villas-Boas will have no trouble finding work if he is ousted at Stamford Bridge. "The only thing that will topple Villas-Boas is if he fails to qualify for the Champions League," he said. "If he leaves Chelsea, he'll be the next coach of Inter."http://www.talksport...sea-was-mistake
  20. Given that I like Chelsea I don't want them to finish out of top 4, but for a lot of reasons that makes sense finishing outside of top 4 will be great for our long term planning. Cause we will see what the board and Roman real intentions are. If they stick by their man after that, then we know he will stay for some time. And by then as you mention when can get rid of those players that don't respect the chain, and we can play those hungry youngster that want a shot like Ryan and Lukaku. The only downside is the money lost, but if Chelsea can managed to comeback to the CL next season it would not be bad....and they should otherwise 2 season no CL then AVB is really history!
