Come on, it's only Wigan. Wait till they play against a few top teams before saying nothing's changed.

Bertrand did great throughout the match, both defensively and in attack. Hazard coming on changed the game in our favor. Demba Ba with two assists, not bad considering how much stick he got in the live chat. Nice little feature that btw, great job as usual @Jim.

I don't particularly like that team and personally think we should be playing pretty much the team intended for Hull and not the ones who haven't featured much in pre-season. Good to see Luiz back though, should at least somewhat play down those Barcelona rumours.

For your sake I hope you're just trolling and weren't being serious. Your debate was couldn't have been further from intelligent and objective. You do realize there is a middle ground between being absolutely flawless and being mediocre with massive flaws. And using the so called unbiased pundits and other teams' fans as proof that your opinion is the correct one is ridiculous. The Manchester cunts are all still bitter he chose Chelsea ahead of them and the moment he signed a contract with the club he went from an amazing talent and a potential future Ballon d'Or winner to overrated and many of the neutral fans started to hate him after the infamous ball boy incident so their opinions matter fuck all too. Most of us here witnessed with our own eyes every single one of his performances for Chelsea last season and while he may not have been perfect, I see absolutely no reason not to think he has a truly spectacular future and that we can expect good things from him as early as this season once Jose gets him firing. He has explosive pace, great dribbling skills and is probably the best in our whole team at holding the ball. His footballing brain is exceptional and once he's fully settled in at the club and matured a bit I don't see why he couldn't be one of the best in the world. His finishing could be better and he should maybe try shooting more instead of trying to make things harder than they really are but he has plenty of time to improve those attributes and I have faith in Mourinho to get the best out of him. So yeah, fuck off troll.

Why is it good? It's only a meaningless friendly and playing against proper opponents is what makes the team better and more comfortable playing together, especially the midfielders. Playing against a three man midfield De Rossi - Strootman - Pjanic should be a good workout for our lads, I for one hope all of those three play.
-
I heard he got called up for next week's friendly against France. If he features, will that do the trick or will it require an official game like a qualifier?
-
Well, fuck. Didn't realize to check because he's such a young boy who only played his first professional game a couple of weeks ago and there wasn't a thread in the first page of the transfer section but I should have known one of our Belgian members has spotted this guy ages ago.
-
May I introduce you to one of the most useful functions of this forum, the IGNORE. It's really helpful against the cunts, no point raging and getting yourself banned when you can simply add them morons to the ignore lists and continue your intellectual discussions with the rest of the forum.

Nice. Keep up the good work!

Earlier today I saw someone re-tweeting something Benoit Assou-Ekotto said which might have been suggesting he's moving away from Tottenham. Coentrao going there makes sense if that's true, could even be somehow involved in the Bale deal.
-
Anyone know more about this guy? 17-year-old lad, plays for PSV Eindhoven as a winger / forward. Up until a couple of weeks ago I'd never even heard his name but now everyone seems to be hyping him up to become the next big thing in European football. He was very impressive in both legs against Thorgan Hazard's club Zulte Waregem in the Champions League qualifiers and now he scored a hat-trick in his league debut against NEC. Oh, almost forgot. He's Belgian, what are you waiting for Chelsea?
-
Bitter cunts that lot. For a club as tight on money as United are there's no way they would ever miss out on a £30-40m transfer fee and keep paying the player £10m annually for the remaining two seasons while getting fuck all in return. That would mean a total loss of over £60m for the club and in today's market that's a couple of quality signings thrown out the window right there.
-
Just to put things into perspective David Villa moved for less than £5m this summer and imo Eto'o should be valued around the same if he leaves Anzhi. Anzhi might even consider letting him go on a free transfer if they're really desperate about cutting expenses. His wages shouldn't be an issue because surely the man himself realizes he won't get that much anywhere else and his huge contract only has a year left anyway. Cut his wages in half but offer a two or three year deal with a decent signing on bonus and he already has a better contract overall than the one he has now. Sure, he could run out his contract at Anzhi and then negotiate something next year and maybe get more money than he would by agreeing a deal like the one described above but I can't see many top club wanting to snap him up at 33, especially if his current season turns to shit which wouldn't really be a suprise considering all the chaos surrounding Anzhi at the moment.

They're welcome to have Torres...
-
Slightly off topic but Sevilla's shirts are just horrible, almost as bad as the Liverpool kits. Both produced by those American cunts Warrior, way to go lads.
-
Wasn't he supposed to get into politics or something after retiring from football? Anyway, if he's serious about getting in to coaching I would very much like to see Sheva in the Chelsea coaching team at some point. A likable character and a real gentleman.
-
Yeah, not saying we should even consider selling him anytime soon because he is actually a pretty good defender against the typical English teams with not much flair and trickery but against the top sides we really should have better players than Cahill. Also the fact he qualifies as a homegrown player is important, not many of those left in the Chelsea squad when Terry, Lampard and Cole will be gone in a couple of years.
-
I agree that Ba is a decent player but would you say he's good enough to lead the line for a team that hopes to challenge for the title? You have Van Persie and City have Agüero, just to put things into perspective. If the answer is no, then I really don't see much of a role for him in the team because we have Lukaku too. He will probably stay and fight for the place with Lukaku but I can see him moving on next year at the latest. He came into the side at a bad time when we desperately needed a stopgap striker to help us qualify for the Champions League but now Romelu is back, we have a new manager and might even have another striker coming in before the window closes. Kind of a shame because he really seems like a nice guy and is actually a pretty good player too but like I said, not good enough to lead us to trophies and not worth risking Lukaku's development either.
-
Fair enough. The thing is, there would still be more than enough games available for Lukaku even if he was just our number two forward instead of Mourinho throwing him in the deep end with massive expectations. Our team is still very much in transition with the likes of Lukaku, Hazard, Schürrle, Oscar, De Bruyne, Moses, Van Ginkel, Azpilicueta, Kalas etc. all being well under 23 and relatively inexperienced at this level so in order to equally compete for the title with you guys and City we could use having a couple of more players who are currently in their prime and have more experience of winning things, Rooney would very much fit the bill. In the last decade Chelsea have had great success in the cup competitions so the team playing 60 games again this season is very much a reality so don't tell me with a straight face that Lukaku couldn't get enough playing time to progress if we got someone else to play first choice forward. Lukaku starting around 20 games combined in all competitions and coming off the bench in nearly all the others wouldn't be so bad for his development, now would it? And if the new forward, at this point most likely Rooney, would get injured then it would be Lukaku's chance to shine but if the club didn't buy anyone and Lukaku would get injured, what then? Trust Torres or Demba Ba to fire us to the title?
-
Horrible, just horrible. And the worst thing is that just because he's English and by definition more of a no-nonsense kind of player rather than a flashy centreback who attacks a lot he usually doesn't get anywhere near as much stick as Luiz gets for his mistakes, which are becoming fewer and fewer if I might add.
-
So basically you're saying Rooney isn't fit to play every game but would still be a threat to Lukaku's development because the Belgian wouldn't get enough playing time? You're contradicting yourself there, mate.
-
Injured, eh Moyes? No coming back now after the AVB treatment. I can see him putting in the transfer request in a few days but not sooner because taking all the attention to himself so close to his mate Rio's big day tomorrow would be a cuntish move and no matter how hard he wants to leave the club I doubt he would be willing to ruin that. I say bid £30m again next week. Moyes has just played his hand by forcing the player to train with the reserveres and all this 'not for sale at any price' talk has gone down the drain.
-
And this, my friends, is exactly what we should expect to happen in nearly every match against the big boys if we sell Luiz. Cahill might be a good fourth choice CB and a useful player to have in the squad but he simply put it isn't good enough to handle the likes of Ronaldo and other skillful forwards. Terry is not the same as he once was and Ivanovic will play a decent amount of games at RB so do some of the people saying we should sell DL to Barca really think Cahill is up to the task of being the club's first choice CB? As for the game itself, I don't mind the result too much. It's clear that Real Madrid deployed their best XI and we certainly did not so the scoreline could have been even worse. At least the lads got a decent workout in chasing Ronaldo all game.
