Conte needs to seriously work on defending crosses and 10 man formations/tactics. Were very poor when dealing with both today.
-
Nah fam, Apparently demanding ambition from a PL Title winning club is akin to playing Playstation or Football Manager.
-
Wow, your right. I forgot we haven't even replaced Oscar as well! Such atrocious squad building and planning from Roman and his minions.
-
Extremely lucky. Didier Drogba will be forever immortal for closing that deal for us.
-
Great minds think alike my friend. I keep holding out hope that Chelsea may go all out for Sanchez or Griezmann next summer, but what's the point. Chelsea are allergic to ballers.
-
Same, I was actually more upset with him than Cahill.. because that's expected from Cahill. But Cesc just legitimately made that Spurs match A Million times harder. That's the type of red card you fine a weeks wages on FM.
-
And Chelsea refuse to partner him with an attacking midfielder that's on his level. Embarrassing ambition.
-
Is he gone for 1 match or three?
-
Tbf, we'd still need VVD to make certain Cahill never starts again..
-
Shit performance all around. Needs to stop being so static during build-up and face his marker more, and his link-up play was reminiscent of Costa.
-
And that is all on Roman. Maybe not the specific match against Burnley, but the lack of senior players thus lack of tactical flexibility is all on him. Such incompetent squad building and planning.
-
Barkley. Oxlade. Drinkwater. This is Chelsea. This is Fútbol.
-
No, let him go to Spurs.
-
The team needs English players, highly doubt this happens.
-
I'm not going to lie, if the window closed today, i too would be worried. But if/when the adequate bodies are attained then yeah, we'll be solid.
-
Valid points all around. Why must you be so measured and calm.

For me it's Conte's comments week after week after week in the press about needing more signings, that's giving credence to many of our worries. Also, we signed 3 players and broke our transfer record, but need I remind you how poor our transfer windows have been since 2014? Chelsea needed (imo) a £250M type of summer spending spree. And that's what was being we sold to the fans. There was real optimism that the club had learned from their mistakes that PL Champions must strengthen mightily and be ruthless when doing so and were going to go ALL OUT in backing Antonio Conte. But as of August 6th, not only have we not done that, but there's still MAJOR work needed to be done. Why can't the board ever be proactive, and get these deals done? If Marina/Emenalo had properly acquired a top CM in 2015 or 2016, a CB in 2014, we'd be in a much better position for Summer 2017. But they didn't. And because of that backlog of failings, Chelsea have many holes to fill: 2 wingbacks, 2 CMs, 1 RF. And that's AFTER already signing a CB, CM, ST. IMO, Conte succeeded last year IN-SPITE of the Board. And that's the crux of the debate, imo. If people feel the Board have done a good job, and all this squad needs is Ross Barkely, Danny Drinkwater and Oxlade Chamberlain to go toe-to-toe with Madrid/Bayern/PSG in the UCL, I wish I could share in that delusion, I really wish I could. (Not saying you agree with this last bit, but you get my jist.) When people defend the board, I ask myself, what evidence is their that these lot know how to close a deal for any player that is of real genuine quality?
-
If 4-5 players of genuine quality that Conte can trust aren't attained by August 31st, that will be the end of our season. Was listening to Michael Caley on his pod the other day, and he made an astute point that if those bodies aren't brought in, many of our players will hit a physcial wall due to a serious accumulation of minutes around January. Cahill/Luiz (who was playing injured since Dec.)/Kante/Azpi/Pedro/Hazard/and especially the wingbacks Alonso/Moses. You'd think the club would be aware of this, but after 2015/16 you can't rule anything out with this club. Edit: I just started a new Football Manager save with the updated current squad and look at this squad report i received.

Agree 100%.
-
Trying to be positive, and hold off on my Board agenda until August 31st. If it's no Sandro, but Ross Barkley & Drinkwater are signed. Scenes.
-
He said the same about Pogba. I rememver Allegri giving an interview, where he talked about how he was adamant Pogba was going to staying, until Moratta and the board sat him down and showed him how much profit they'd be making from the deal. If we pay a record fee for a Sandro, Moratta will say yes.

Not all heroes wear capes.
-
My most ideal scenario to ending the marcato. Alex Sandro-£60M? Alex Oxlade Chamberlain-£25-30? Danny Drinkwater-£25-30 I know Conte wanted 4 players, but I'm not sure there's another RF/LF that's available for decent money. Please don't sign Ross Barkley, because if that's the case then why not just wait until next summer and go all out for a World Class player? Like Griezzmann or Sanchez.
-
Chelsea confident in landing Sandro. Already got my hopes up in July that this was going to be done, no chance i'm giving up on this transfer.
